Free Music Notes for Forget About It AlbumFree Music Review: Worthwhile, But Not Terrific Hit: 3 StarsAlison Krauss has created a good album, and I'm currently infatuated with several of its songs (including "Maybe" and "Dreaming"). However, the album overall doesn't resonate as intensely as some of her earlier ones. Seems a bit less bluegrass-y than usual (which interests me, because though I love her earlier work, it is nice to hear some new sounds from her). Several songs just don't keep my attention at all, not the way her music usually will; the music and voice seems less energetic, less rich, less colorful, less vibrant than usual. Overall, a CD worth having, but it won't become one of my general favorites or one of my Alison Krauss favorites. Her best work, I think, is "Now That I've Found You," and anyone without that album should get that one before this. That's the CD that introduced me to her, and I became a huge fan 5 seconds into the first song I heard off it. "Forget About It" is simply not an exceptional work--I wouldn't have been as swept away by this artist (she's one of my favorites) if I'd begun listening with this album. I still, however, recommend this work if you're a true Alison Krauss fan; I'm probably only disappointed because she's generally phenomenal, not just good.
