Free Music Notes for Getting SomewhereFree Music Review: Enjoyable CD Hit: 4 StarsI enjoyed discovering a new artist! I love some of the songs and like the rest. Pleasant female vocal presentation!
Free Music Review: Buy 'Show' instead Hit: 2 StarsWow, did someone slip the wrong CD into my jewelbox or what?
If you're a fan of Allison's other work, epect nothing like what you've heard before. This is mostly a pop album, and the songs that could have been saved are ruined by the awful engineering. The sound is way over compressed and artificial sounding. Even Allisons voice has no drive to it.
Steve Earl is no match on the guitar for Joe McMahan who played on the Show CD/DVD.
Free Music Review: Allison Moorer Getting Somewhere Hit: 1 StarsI was so disappointed when I heard this CD. The background music overpowers Allisons voice. If I had heard this before I bought it, I would have passed on it. I can't say anything good about it. Thanks OVB
Free Music Review: Excellent Album as a whole.... Hit: 5 StarsWell produced with a positive outlook.
More pop than country, but I am not a huge country music fan anyway except Alan Jackson.
New years day is excellent.
I like "Fairweather" as well. Strong music backed by a excellent voice.
Free Music Review: I got a lot of work to do, I got a lot of space to fill Hit: 5 StarsIm touched and im not ashamed to admit it!!!!! this is the most emtional, beautifull and amazing album Allison have recorded, i really ignore what is wrong with all this people that have given low rates they surely listened another album, the album opens with "work to do" a very rocking judgemental and funny track, then "youll never know" fills the space this is one of my faves really beautifull song , "fairwheater" is amazing!!!!!! as well "where you are" wich is dedicated to her sister Shelby Lynn , "just for today" (great song)is dedicated to her husband, yeah saddly Allison is recently married but if he inspired her to make this new album we all have won then.
Get this cd, you wont regret it.
