My first Vonda Shepard cd . . . absolutely great. I loved the mix of artists . . . Vonda Shepard, Sting, Tina Turner, Barry White, Anastacia, Al Green, and yes, Robert Downey, Jr.! Robert Downey, Jr. has a great voice! What a wonderful mix of songs, too! Took me back, and I enjoyed going there. Being an Ally and RDJ fan, I expected that I would enjoy this CD, but it's even better than I hoped for! Vonda Shepard's and RDJ's rendition of "Chances Are" is spellbinding, and I can't get enough. For Once in My Life I've purchased a CD that I love from beginning to end....every song is great. What an incredible mix of songs....yet, as you are going from tract to tract it flows well. Robert Downey Jr.'s vocal are sublime paired with his signature 'smooth' piano style. His grap of musical timing and wordplay makes for more than a casual listen. The few tracks he contributes to really make this whole album a vivid, luxurious, and sensual experience.
