This CD is one of the best ones in my collection! Every song rocks hard and is good! Here's my opinion of the songs:
Find The Real: 4/5 Awesome way to start the album, very hard rocker with a killer guitar solo.
One Day Remains: 4.5/5 Great song, super guitar solo, another hard rocker. Great guitar work on this song.
Open Your Eyes: 5/5 A true rock anthem, has a great meaning and a guitar solo that rocks hardcore.
Burn It Down: 3/5 A good song, is very slow in the beginning, but picks up. Has a pretty cool guitar solo, but is kind of long.
Metalingus: 5/5 Outright rocker. Probably the heaviest song on the album, has nice drum work.
Broken Wings: 10/5 I can't say how much I like this song. Awesome, through and through. All you people should hear this song.
In Loving Memory: ?/5 Haven't really listened to this song, so I can't say how it is. Just listen to it and see.
Down To My Last: 5/5 Great song, the guitar solo is just so cool! Another rocker.
Watch Your Words: 2/5 Probably my least favorite song on the album. It's just ok.
Shed My Skin: 3/5 Not one of my favorites, but is still a pretty good rock song.
The End Is Here: 4/5 Pretty hard rocker, cool song. Very hard near the end rocks out hard.
Well, I hope my review helped, and overall, if you like rock, you will probably love this. If you like the samples, don't hesitate, buy it!
Free Music Review: Very solid debut album

This band takes the best of what was Creed, the music and melodies, and adds an amazing vocalist in Myles Kennedy. The CD is strong from beginning to end with good mix of powerful head-bangers (Metalingus, Watch Your Words, Find The Real), several big ballads (Broken Wings, In Loving Memory), and plenty of straight-up rock (One Day Remains, Down to My Last, and of course Open Your Eyes, the first single). The guitar solo is also making a comeback in this cd with Mr. Tremonti shredding on FTR, OYE, Burn It Down, and Down To My Last. There is still room for improvement in the song writing since a lot a the songs start sounding the same. However, I recommend this cd to anyone who likes loud guitars, soaring vocals, and lovely melodies.Free Music Review: This music is insulting!!!!

One horrible band has split to make two horrible bands. They're like Gremlins, please keep them away from water!!! It sounds like a horrible tribute band of every 90's has been. It could be a bunch of Guitar Center rejects playing half ass Soundgarden covers. Just terribly insulting that this type of music is produced and pushed on music listeners. Anybody who appreciates real thought provoking music should avoid this CD at all costs. This could be almost as bad as Creed, I haven't got the stomach to listen to Scott's solo album, so I can't bring him into this. These guys would do well on American Idol, because it fits that mindless, cheesy, empty droning that you hear from that show. Free Music Review: No identity!

I think they sound more like a mix of CREED, and SOUNDGARDEN, than Creed and Pearl Jam. But I don't think it matters a whole lot to be honest. Because if your a fan of Creed you will probably be a fan of this. I have never been a fan of Creed, I think that they were one of the worst bands of the last ten years. I did in fact listen to the entire album and there is nothing exiting in any of the songs, they sound incredibly thought out in ways to maximize their airplay. Which just leads to nothing important or relevant in what they are playing!Free Music Review: Great Music!!!!

I am so glad I found this CD. The music is very emotional, very powerful! There are some harder music too, but I enjoy the more ballad type of songs: "Open Your Eyes" is the top song, right up there with the best Rock band ballads. Then the songs "Broken Wings", "Down To My Last," "Shed My Skin," and "In Loving Memory" just make me feel good everytime I listen to them. One of my favorite more heavier rock songs is "Burn It Down." However, "Mentalingus" is everything a rock song should be, and I think it should of had grammy consideration!! Also, I am sure the people that prefer the more heavy rock will call out of few of the other songs!
Just a great all around album, I can't wait for their next album!! I may even prefer this album more than the Creed albums...and that is saying something because Creed was great!! Scott has a fantastic voice, but Myles is right up there with him and beyond. I think if you like Creed, you more than likely will like Alter Bridge too!!!
