Free Music Notes for Amadeus: The Complete Original Soundtrack RecordingFree Music Review: Some criticism for the Austrian "critic." Hit: 5 Stars
To the Austrian "critic": It's very, VERY depressing when someone from this mans' homecountry does not know that Mozart IS dead, and has been so for over two hundred years. It's even worse when the same person doesn't even know the name. And no, he didn't speak English; he was an AUSTRIAN. And yes, he knew how to write lyrics; much better so than your screaming "musicians" who must have a drummer drive the beat because they can't even KEEP TIME. Mozart was was we call a musical genius, Korn and Manson are, as Mozart said about the Italians, musical idiots. He DID play his own instrument; several, in fact, and it's rather hard to play your own music when you write for upwards up one hundred musicians and more. So, he conducted. Please keep your oppinions to yourself unless you have something intelligent to say. And PLEASE, Amazon, do a better job of screening the reviews!
Free Music Review: Consider the Remastered 24 High-Bit Gold CD Special Edition Hit: 5 Stars
This 1991 3-disc standard set is undoubtedly a fine edition of the Amadeus soundtrack with its unique and oversized packaging, but for serious listening, you should consider the '24 High-Bit' Gold CD remastered special edition issued in 2002 (ASIN: B00005Y1SV), notwithstanding that it does cost slightly more.
The original soundtrack has been remastered for excellent sonics in that special edition, and I believe the included 30-page booklet has been updated as well.
Although there are only 2 discs in the remastered edition, each 24K Gold disc is jam-packed with music to the brim, such that the special edition set of 2 discs actually contains all 30 tracks of this 3-disc standard edition.
Anyway, if you enjoyed Amadeus, you can't go wrong with either edition, as each will deliver many hours of listening pleasure.
Free Music Review: Incredibly Brilliant! Hit: 5 Stars
Let me start by saaying this soundtrack couldn't get much better. The sound is crisp, clean, and startling. I have listened and played (on piano) Mozart for many years and this soundtrack remains one of my favorites. The selection of music is incredible. The concertos, operas, and symphonies are so brilliantly written, that there should be no doubt in anyones mind that he is a genius. Speaking of doubt, this is out to that ignorant, stupid austrian reviewer who thinks Korn can match up to Mozart, get a life. Mozart could play any instrument and with finesse. If he were alive today he would make fools out of your stupid, talentless bands. Let's see if your bands are still popular two centuries from now? I don't think so, Mozart is around because he had TALENT, (I don't think you would understand what that is so I won't even explain it).
Free Music Review: Worth every penny Hit: 5 Stars
What can I say? If you loved the movie, you will love this soundtrack. When I purchased the complete version, I thought it was a bit pricey. Then I realized this soundtrack, like Wolfgang's music, is timeless. The few measely coins I put down for this ar far outweighed by the musical gold on these CD's.The package was a little odd though. The soundtrack comes in a rather large box, about the size of a record album. Inside is a small CD case and a booklet. I'm not complaining, it just seemed...odd. Never mind that. This is a must buy for everyone, no matter what your musical taste. Like the movie, it is also a wonderful study of what genius truly is. YOu must keep in mind as the CD plays, these were complete or near complete compositions in Mozart's head. Amazing.
Free Music Review: Mozart Fans Must Have Hit: 5 Stars
Of course, not just Mozart fans.. anyone who has an ear for great music. If you've seen the movie, you'll want to run and get the soundtrack. Get this cd. A bit overpriced but worth it. The music is superb. Starting off like in the movie with Symphony 25, a dark but fun piece (in the film, it's played when Salieri is attempting suicide). The excerpts from the operas are terrific. Enjoy the rollicking tunes of Mozart's opera set in Turkey, the dark music to Don Giovanni and the romantic melodies of Nozze di Figaro. The piano concertos are irresistable. The tender Flute and Harp concerto is divine. The Requiem is brilliant. Plus the symphonic music are awesome. Viva Amadeus !
