Free Music Review: Even Better Than Expected - In Fact, Magic!

I'm a big fan of music from Mali, but I wasn't very familiar with Amadou & Mariam when I bought this CD. When it arrived, it was immediately apparent what a treasure I had found. A compilation of some of their best albums, it's 15 tracks and 75 minutes of sonic beauty. Their voices are stunning, and the music is rich and warm. It has a very authentic traditional sound, with subtle modern nuances that enhance, rather than detract form, the overall feel of the music. Occasional harmonica flourishes, for example, blend seamlessly with ancient Malian instruments. For fans of the Farka-Toures and the Diabate clan, this is a must-have CD. For casual, curious listeners, this is a great place to start. I have no doubt you will find "The Magic Couple" magical too!
