Free Music Review: I want to be a great pianist because of this
Hit: 5 Stars

I don't know how to describe the music of this soundtrack... it's just too... I can't even find the right adjective. But the point here is, I love the soundtrack so much. I love how the sounds fit into the film just right, and how it touches me each time I hear the tracks playing. What I love the most is La Valse D'Amelie (piano version) because of its melancholic sound that surely has a great impact on listeners. Actually, this track is one of the major reasons why I wanted to learn how to play the piano. The other tracks are also great, because they make you feel like you have nothing to worry about, thus bringing comfort to your busy mind.

And also, if music can get into your soul and tell you all the beautiful things in the world, then this soundtrack has proven such things to be true. Yann Tiersen is a truly talented man who can prove that music can project the right mood unto anyone who cares to listen.

So far, this is the best soundtrack my ears have ever heard. Listen to this soundtrack and feel what it's like to be in Paris, anywhere, anytime!

Free Music Review: I just love this
Hit: 5 Stars

I origninally heard a snippet of this on a Windom Hill compilation of film theme songs. It wasn't even performed by Yann Tiersen, who is tremendously talented. I couldn't get the melody out of my head. I ordered the original soundtrack and I couldn't be happier. One night, coming home from work, I got off the train, and heard a french tune wafting across the platform. A sweet and gentle homeless guy, Jerry, with a bashed in accordian, was playing for change. For a while I would see Jerry at the end of my work day. I'd say play me my french song please. I'd sit on the bench with him and he'd oblige with two or three. Then he didn't come back anymore. I missed sitting on the bench with Jerry and being serenaded! In liu of Jerry, Amelie does the trick. I listen to it before I set off on my day and it helps me put the right foot forward! It's so joyous and uplifting. I love the toy piano as much as the accordian. It's great music to day dream by. It swirls around in my mind, and makes me feel like a kid again. I haven't seen the film, silly, but the soundtrack is marvelous!

Free Music Review: Yann Tiersen brings Amelie to life in this ethereal piece.
Hit: 5 Stars

When one views Amelie for the first time, he or she is greeted with an unfamiliarly breath-taking cinematic experience. Not only are the script, acting performances and directing insightfully innovative and insanely delightful, but the musical overlay is absolutely out of this world. With that said, you can see why the film, Amelie, and, consequently, the incumbent original soundtrack, have sparked mind-bending numbers, not only in France, where it originally debuted, but across the globe, as well. From start to finish, the album reaches back, provocatively, to capture the grace and beauty of some of music's greatest eras (pre-1960s)-Piano, Latin, Classic Opera, Rag-time, and English folk make more-than-impressive appearances, to name just a few. What's more is how each track tends to naturally flow into the next, truly offering the listener a classy- utterly unheard of-selection of songs to be taken into. The instrumental selections, alone, presented here, are beyond comprehension and words, leaving one little reason to seek another musically enchanting prospective.

Free Music Review: Sad, intricate, expressive, soft.
Hit: 5 Stars

This album is wonderful. It fits the mood of the movie perfectly and gives one the sense of watching the movie over again, even if you aren't. The songs are memorable and one can easily remember what Amelie was doing or thinking while these songs played softly in the background. It is entirely soft, passionate, lovable, and most of all, sad. The music does reflect the movie quite well and the day after I saw the movie, I got the album. First of all, I liked the movie quite a bit, and was expecting to, when I went to see it. Second though, this album is pure ambiance and remembrance. It reminds me of things long ago, and has definitely the French style. There are two older style songs in here, one called "Guilty" about a guy (made to sound like its from an old record player) saying how guilty he is for loving this woman and the other, sung by an older woman called "J'y suis jamais allé". I don't speak French so I don't know what she's singing about or what the title is. This album is very smooth and I recommend it highly.

Free Music Review: A spectacular soundtrack!
Hit: 5 Stars

I have had this CD for months now, and I can't stop listening to it. I am a very big fan of movie soundtracks and scores, and I definitely think the Amelie soundtrack is one of the best I've heard. Yann Tiersen does a good job of meshing the whimsical, upbeat tones together. In the past, I didn't think I liked French-sounding music, but after listening to these songs, I proved myself wrong. The accordions are very cute and definitely mix into the music well, with each song sounding very unique. But don't think that the soundtrack is all-accordion. The songs also have a beautiful classical undertone. My favorite songs were the various versions of "La Valse D'Amelie", track 4, and also the first two tracks. Listening to the beautiful violins and pianos in these songs made me wish that I could play them. Probably the only track I didn't enjoy was "La Redecouverte", but the 19 other songs more than make up for it. The melodies on this CD will surely capture your ears and your heart.
