Free Music Notes for Amelie: Original Soundtrack RecordingFree Music Review: Beautiful from the begining to the end Hit: 5 Stars
Last year I was in a metro in Paris and someone started playing a beautiful french music in accordion. I followed the music and lost the station just to hear the music to the end. I didn't recognized the music at first, but it filled me with joy and I knew I had listened it before, but I didn't know where. I kept the music in mind. It carries the lovely mood of Paris.
Months later that music still ressonated inside my memories and I finally remembered: it was "La Valse D'Amelie". Without thinking, I bought immediatelly this CD. All the musics are ingenious and passionate. Its a wonderful and indispensable CD.
Just for the purpose of situating this review according to your own tasting, could be useful to know that I love classical music, jazz and movie soundtracks.
Other lovely soundtrack you may like is Pride & Prejudice from Dario Marianelli.
Free Music Review: Absolutely wonderful Hit: 5 Stars
I popped on my Amelie DVD a few weeks back and as I was being wowed by it again was noticing how nice the music was. I decided to explore the music further.
I've been listening to this soundtrack for several weeks straight now, several times a day some days. When I'm not listening to it, I'm humming it or hearing it in my head. I absolutely love this score and would recommend it to anyone who likes soundtracks or instrumentals.
This is a work of startling originality - there is such a variety of instruments and themes that only a handful of songs sound alike (most scores have a central theme that runs through virtually every song). Despite all the titles being in French, a language I don't speak, the tracks are so identifiable I know many of them by name. You can't help being picked up by the spirit of the music as it twists and turns playfully, almost organically.
Simply - beautiful.
Free Music Review: Absolutely beautiful. Hit: 5 Stars
This is the best soundtrack I have ever listened to. Any words I write right now do not compare to this c.d.'s beauty. Tiersen is truly a musical genius who, (sadly) is unknown in the good ol' US of A. He should be, though.
The music in Amelie is at once charming and graceful, yet sad and haunting. It makes you wonder a lot. I'm listening to it right now and I gotta say I have to stop periodically because I just want to bask in this soundtrack's lovliness. Just like Amelie's quirky nature, ths music bounces and skips, but also stops periodically and thinks.
Anyway....All the tracks are to die for. Even if you're not a soundtrack fan (not me) you MUST buy this. Even if you hate classical music, despise accordians, and don't like French stuff, this is a must buy. I am serious, because once you listen to this soundtrack, you'll be hooked. I know I am.
Free Music Review: I hate soundtracks...except this one. Hit: 5 Stars
I usually hate movie soundtracks. They're usually nothing more than a way for companies to make a few extra bucks off a movie. Amelie is one of the rare exceptions. The music on this soundtrack could stand alone, without the movie. With the exception of on or two French songs, every song on this album is worth listening to. The piano music is simple, yet emotive and haunting. I used to listen to this album when I was studying in college, and it got me through just fine. I never got tired of it. It's really incredible. Definitely worth buying. By the way, the movie, Amelie, is one of the best I've ever seen. The movie, combined with the excellent music, delivers an entertainment experience that you won't forget. There are only a few movies that I feel changed the way I view all other movies, and Amelie is one of them. Trust me.
Free Music Review: Uniquely captivating music Hit: 5 Stars
I know I'm piling on here, but this soundtrack is a true gem--it's rocketed up to the top of my all time favorite CD's. Accordions: it sounds Paris, it sounds eastern European, it sounds ecstatic, it sounds melancoly. Don't underestimate the accordions, this album is a densely layered amazingly complex work. The sounds are totally unique yet readily accessible. It's one of those rare CD's the more you listen to it the more you like it.
The album is also superbly produced, subtle and nuanced. Tiersen defies genres. It doesn't matter what kind of music you like, if you have any brain at all, you'll like this album.
Besides that it ROCKS. I get so into it I almost drive my car off the road. Dangerous. Really, I can't say enough--bite the bullet, bring this CD home. Revel.
