Free Music Review: Yann Tiersen

Yann Tiersen, the composer and performer of the instrumentals on this Ameilie soundtrack, is a genius. This album is a testament to it. The music is wonderfully atmospheric, and perpetuates a year-round Christmas feeling, with a touch of eeriness and sadness. The songs have a way of building on their own inertia and apexing in a great triumphant wave of emotion, which inspires the listener to do the same.When I first saw the movie I was blown away, but when I bought and listened to the soundtrack, I was even more impressed. The soundtrack indubitably MAKES the movie. Without this music Amelie would just be a good movie and not a great movie.
Also, check out Yann Tiersens other work, it is also phenomenal.

Will not indwell too much as I can go on forever about this album. Certainly the best soundtrack I have ever heard. Full of joy and beatiful melodies/harmonies.
Nothing lifts me up more than this. I always travel with the soundtrack. Once again, the movie like "the hours" couldn't reach its great successs without this beautiful soundtrack. I think Yann is probably the most talented musician I have heard from in a very long time.
The most amazing thing is that the music can suit all moods, happy, playful, upset, bored, but most of all dreamful and optimistic.
It is certainly the soundtrack of a century.
Thumbs up and hat off to Yann.

In my shelf at home I have many soundtracks, I can most of the time when I'm at the movies tell who is the composer before the name appears, but this was the second time I bought a soundtrack that was composed by someone I didn't know, but it worked last time so, "why not". This time it worked out even better then the last time. I find that every track has a mood or feeling connected to it, and when I'm done listening to the whole soundtrack, most of the feelings that I have experienced; sadness, happiness, love, hate and so on I can find on this soundtrack. When I go to a deserted island, with nothing to do, except maybe eat ice-cream, this is the music I would bring.

After you see "Amelie" you wish it was available on DVD just so you can have this beautiful romatic movie for your collection.The music brings back the wonder images of one of the most beautiful movies I have seen in my lifetime (I am 38).
Yann Tiersen knows how to bring out the scenes and the subtle nuances from each character bringing every scene to a climax all its own.
From beginning to end this soundtrack breathes life into music from every corner, an absolute must for your music collection, and go see the film! Tre Magnifique!
I smell OSCAR for soundtrack as well as acting and best picture nods....John Williams watch out you have some competition.
