Free Music Notes for Amelie: Original Soundtrack Recording

Free Music Review: Musical candy that tickles your ears.....
Hit: 5 Stars

I love the movie Amelie, but realized that one of the reasons I keep popping it into the DVD player was because of the narration and the MUSIC. Therefore, purchasing the Soundtrack made sense, and it was better than I expected. First, the songs are beautiful and make for great background music when you are driving, having a dinner party, or working. Secondly, I've never found music that makes me smile as much as Mr. Yann Tiersen's work does. Third, the soundtrack on Amazon is half as much as Mr. Tiersen's other works, but just as good.

Free Music Review: Beautiful Even Without the Film
Hit: 5 Stars

I have to confess that I have not seen the film "Amelie" in its entirety yet. But, even without seeing the entire film, this music is still charming, beautiful, and altogether haunting. Yann Tiersen's leaping, twirling, imagnitive score takes hold of you from the opening measures, and does not let you go until the very last note of the very last song. When the soundtrack is over, trust me, it is hard to keep from listening to it all over again.

So, if you love a good soundtrack, this is the one for you, even if you have or have not seen the movie, though the soundtrack has certainly gotten me much more interested in seeing it...

Free Music Review: Magical music.....
Hit: 5 Stars

As of this writing, I am probably the only person in America who hasn't seen AMELIE (the film) so I will relate my experience of AMELIE (the music cd) -- I love it. The music brings back memories from my childhood (LILI). It reminds me of accordian music in a Paris Metro stops or sidewalk cafes. In places Yann Tiersen, the composer, seems to have been influenced by the Impressionist composer Eric Satie. George Winston or Liz Story could have played some of the piano pieces. The two vocals remind me of Maurice Chevalier crooning in GIGI or Rudee Vallee in a 1920s film. All in all this is a lovely cd and I have been playing it over and over.

Free Music Review: Truly Phenomenal. Mr. Tiersen is unbelievable.
Hit: 5 Stars

I saw the movies Goodbye Lenin! and Amelie around the same time as the former was released while I was in Germany. I was struck by the powerful compositions in both films and when I heard they were by the same guy, I immediately went out to get both soundtracks.

The thing that strikes me about Mr. Tiersen is his ability to somehow communicate directly to my soul like very few musicians can. It's uncanny. I think this is a truly can't miss album, but really just about everything the man produces is incredible. Do yourself a favor and buy this album, and then check out his other works as they are also very special.

Free Music Review: Please help me
Hit: 5 Stars

Hi everyone, there is a piece of music I like from Amelie so I practically downloaded all the songs from the soundtrack but still I couldn't find it. I was hoping that maybe someone knows and can help me. The piece of music appears near the beginning of the film and its when the narrator tells us what Amelie likes and one of her likes is skimming pebbles at the St Martin's Canal (just after saying she likes pulping her hand in grain and cracking creme brulee with a spoon). As I said, I can't find it in the soundtrack but I may be wrong, nonetheless I know someone can help me and I will be forever grateful. Thank you.
