Free Music Notes for Amelie: Original Soundtrack RecordingFree Music Review: Brilliant, magical Hit: 5 Stars
After seeing the movie and becoming obsessed with it, I set out to buy the sountrack. And to my delight, it captures the movies energy and atmosphere. This music is just so good and unique. It reminds me of Paris streete and impressionist paintings and sunny days in a European city. :) Some tracks are whimsical, some are more piano like and quiet. But I bet it's not like any kind of music you can imagine before hand. It's totally it's own style. I LOVE IT! Also, I suggest seeing the movie first, although that's probably what will happen anyway. I listen to this all the time, and it never gets old.
Free Music Review: A favoirte though moody Hit: 5 Stars
This soundtrack carries with it the mood of the movie both the up and the down. This is the feel good movie of the year music for atmosphere. It is nice and refuses to obtrude when you are thinking. It just helps you think better. It led me to order more music by Yann Tiersen. Some of the other CDs have been wonderful but I find what I like most is still this soundtrack.
One missing piece is the Barber Adagio. For whatever reason, even though it is one of the most striking pieces in the movie, it is not included. But there are several versions of the Adagio available that easily make up for this.
Free Music Review: Let melody brighten your life Hit: 5 Stars
Accordion, melodica, piano, violin... Such instruments set the tone for this exceptional piece of work. A soundtrack that accompanies so well the movie it was written for- sweet, nostalgic, heartwarming - which nevertheless could be a wonderful listening just by itself. It brings to mind all these images from Paris: little coffee shops, pretty girls with short-cut hair passing by, young couples vowing for eternal love... My favorite track is "Comptine D'un Autre ete: L'apres midi" (any ideas of what that may mean are welcome) where the piano melody is simply haunting.
Free Music Review: stupéfiant... il hante mes rêves Hit: 5 Stars
The film was such a beauty, and the music, composed by Yann Tiersen, brought it to life with a purity and freshness unrivaled by any other film soundtrack in years. Tiersen, has modestly emerged as one of the greatest composers of the last 20 years. Perfectly French, his music is breathtaking...it haunts my dreams.
The soundtrack also features two scratchy old gems: one by Frehel, a terrific French singer from the 1930s, somewhat in the vein of Piaf, Mistinguett and Josephine Baker; and one by vintage Crooner, Russ Columbo.
All in all, a delightful collection.
Free Music Review: Recall my walk around St.Martin in Paris Hit: 5 Stars
I watched this movie twice in Paris but this music stayed in my mind even for a long time. When I took a walk around Cafe deux Moulin or around St. Martine canal, my mind started playing that music by itself and it did not let me go. I am sure you recall the movie scene immediately, when your ears catch the main music of this movie. Each music is played with very soft and tender sound which let you feel as if you were in Paris. Also he uses some very interesting instrument for playing them. Toy piano for example! These sound make you feel a little nostalgic... like you recall your childhood.
