Free Music Notes for America - The Complete Greatest Hits

Free Music Review: Outstanding
Hit: 5 Stars

America's tremendous folk-rock harmony sound has graced the airwaves for three decades. Their songs and melodies have consistently impressed me. I owned "History", which I love, but longed for a more complete collection, and this CD is just what I've been waiting for. Besides well-known classics such as "A Horse With No Name", "Sister Golden Hair", and "You Can Do Magic" I have new personal favorites including the beautiful "Amber Cascades", "Today's The Day", "Another Try", and "Everyone I Meet Is From California". This disc includes two brand new songs, "World Of Light" and "Paradise". Far from being filler, each of these lovely songs is uniquely superb and worth owning. I can't stop playing this CD. If you have liked the sound of this group at all, you will be pleased with this CD.

Free Music Review: Glad to get it
Hit: 5 Stars

This CD was a present for my husband, who grew up with "America" in England. I never heard of "America" before, but since we got married, he 'introduced' me to this group by having me sitting and not talking, when Sister Golden Hair occasionally aired on the radio.
I liked the song, and decided to search on Amazon the "America" music CD for him. It was a great present for not only him, but us both, because several of the songs featured on the CD brought my husband back to his youth which made him happy and emotional at times, and as for me; I am exposed to a wonderful quality of everlasting music, which none of the 'rubbish' we sometimes get from the entertainment industry today.
I would recommend this CD to everyone who have just known about "America", and equally to everyone who are fans of the group.
It is a great collection.

Free Music Review: America Gets Their Complete Greatest Hits On One CD!
Hit: 5 Stars

Finally, America gets a Complete Greatest Hits on one cd, without having to buy their expensive box set. I've always enjoyed America's brand of folk rock from the first time I heard on radio "A Horse With No Name" way back in 1972. I actually thought it was Neil Young singing and to my surprise I never realized it was this great band called America. This Complete Greatest Hits has it all, from songs from 1972 to 2002. All the great songs are here such as "A Horse With No Name", "I Need You", "Ventura Highway", "Don't Cross The River", "Tin Man", "Lonely People", "Sister Golden Hair", and so on. I always thought America had harmonies similar to Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young who are my absolute favorite artists of all time. If you, like me love America then you gotta have this collection.

Free Music Review: A really good historical overview...
Hit: 5 Stars

...of an excellent band. America were exploring the tripped out, mellow, peaceful protest genre of the late 60's and early 70's. Strangely these all American guys formed their band while living with their service personal parents, stationed at the time in Cambridgeshire, England. The music is a gentle trip through the mellow attitudes of those distant and gently rebellious, hippy days.
All their classics are here, there cannot be a person on the planet who has not heard, "Horse with no name" and "Ventura Highway", standing out as signature tunes which now define the band and their uniquely peaceful and beautiful sound.
Perfectly chilled music from another time and place, but listen out for the political messages which weigh heavy in some of their enviromental/anti war songs and now exsist as songs with huge contemporary resonance.

Free Music Review: America Awesome
Hit: 5 Stars

I absolutely love America. I am glad this CD is out now. I work at Wal-Mart and saw it there for only $9.00. So I will get it their and save the expense of postage. I have to say that out of all the song I love for all the different reason that I love them, my number one favorite song in the world (out of all the songs) is "You Can Do Magic". I don't think their is any song I enjoy listen to more, though Journey's "Why Can't This Night Go On Forever", Richard Marx's "Keep Coming Back" and Lara Fabian's "Adagio" are a pretty close call. America, to me is "As American as well apple pie. Yummy, delicious. If you have any doubts as to whether or not it is worth the purchase, rest assured it's worth ever minute, worth every penny. They are a great band, a great legend. Definitely buy it and listen often. 10 out of 10.
