Free Music Notes for America - The Complete Greatest HitsFree Music Review: Finally ..... Hit: 5 Stars
Well, for those of us that have been patiently waiting for a worthy single-disc of America, I think it's finally here. This includes everything from "History" plus more. I'm impressed with the sound quality, seems to be a step up from "History". This is a very comprehensive collection - the selections are well-chosen and I'm pleased to see that a decent amount of great songs were all put on a single disc instead of the 2-disc nonsense. Highly recommended for the casual fan and even for the hardcore fan that might not want to spend the money on the box set .... which I believe ultimately gives you a lot of stuff no one is interested in anyway (not so with EVERY box set, but a lot of them). An excellent buy and a collection that is very well-done.
Free Music Review: A Very Nice Collection Hit: 5 Stars
It's great to hear these songs sounding so clean. I've been a fan of their music for a loooong time. This collection has all the tracks from History plus ten more songs including two new tracks. 'Sandman' is the full length album cut with a great guitar solo fade-out. The two new songs 'World of Light' and 'Paradise' fit nicely with the rest of the tracks, but there's something about the innocent charm of the seventies tracks that just can't be duplicated. I would have liked to have 'Old Virginia' on here, but you can't have everything. I'll just be happy with 'Sister Golden Hair', which has to be one of the greatest pop songs to come out of the seventies. There's a lot of boring pop bands out today, why not buy this disc instead to see how it SHOULD be done.

Free Music Review: Classic Rock and Roll at it's best Hit: 5 Stars
This band, America, has been in the business since they were kids (17-18 yrs. old).
They're still touring 40 years later. The fact that they cut a new CD in 2008, "Here and Now", is huge. But even more significant, is that they are still
pulling in new fans all the time. The age spectrum is a long one.
America - The Complete Greatest Hits, is very complete for those who want to sample their biggest sellers. That doesn't mean, by a long stretch, that their biggest hits are necessarily their best songs. Their resume is long, distinguished and versitile. The more one listens to their music, the more they like it. It's a haven of light rock pieces that engage the heart and souls of 'weuns.
Enjoy!
Free Music Review: Very Good Greatest Hits CD Hit: 5 Stars
It's about time when they would release the best hits of America ranging from the early 70's to the early 80's on one single disc and we get to hear two brand new unreleased tracks and they're one of the best groups of the 70's due to a wide diversity of music ranging from folk rock, soft rock and pop rock, if you're a new fan of America, then this CD is an excellent choice for you and the booklet is very informative and interesting, I had no idea that Dan Peek left the group in 1977 until I bought this CD 2 years ago, no fan of 70's music should be without this CD, even the ones on a small budget.
