Free Music Notes for American Idol Greatest Moments

Free Music Review: This certainly a very good CD.
Hit: 5 Stars

You know, wathching "American Idol," I had favorites and I had people whom I despised, and this CD really lets you see just how good these people can be if you put them in the studio rather than onstage singing for a little over a minute after a week of tough rehearsal.

Kelly starts the CD off right with "Natural Woman" and "Respect." ...but surely these are two awesome songs for her voice.

Justin continues with "For Once In My Life" and "Get Here," both of which are very good though he was never one of my favorites. His voice is well suited for the studio, and I've always loved "Get Here."

Next up is Nikki with "Piece of My Heart," and I think that this is one of the highlights of the CD. Rather than on the CD, Nikki gets a chance to really work at the song and we get a chance to hear her sing it all the way through. This is a perfect song for her, and I want to hear more from her.

Tamyra's "A House Is Not A Home" is next, and I must say that this is one of my favorite songs from the whole show. The Bacharach week was nice for everyone, but this lets Tamyra's soul style really flow and it turns out nice...

RJ's "Lately" is...boring...boring...boring, but okay I suppose. I mean...the song [stinks], but he's not horrible...

"Ain't No Sunshine" by Christina Christian gives this girl a chance to shine. I love this song and she sings it perfectly. It's very smooth and she's keeping it easy with her vibrato.

Ryan Starr sings "If You Really Love Me" next, and I must admit, this girl can really sing. ... I like this song for her.

The rest of the album closes out with A.J. singing "My Cherie Amour," Ejay singing "I'll Be," and Jim singing "Easy." ...these Jim was decent on "Easy," which I don't mind and actually kind of like....

The group number, "California Dreaming" is nice ... and the bonus tracks are just what you get on Kelly's single.

This CD is nice to relive the magic of the show and to realize the full potential of some of your lesser favorites, so pick it up. It won't bore you.

Free Music Review: They All Deserve 5 Stars
Hit: 5 Stars

If you were a fan of the hit Fox TV series "American Idol," you will love this CD. I was a little worried that the CD was going to be the live TV performance recordings. During the show, some of the performances were not so good and some were off key. But this CD is a studio recording that allowed each to show off what they were really capable of doing. People do not always realize just how different a performer can sound in the studio vs. what you see live. That is why most professionals today lip sink to their studio recordings when they appear on TV. The American Idol competition was live performances, mistakes and all.

Of course Kelly Clarkson, Justin Guarini, and Tamyra Gray are fantastic on this CD showing off why they deserve to be superstars. Kelly literally brings tears to my eyes when she sings her number one hit "Before Your Love."

But I was surprisingly impressed with how the others sounded in the studio. Ejay Day and Jim Verraros were the first to get voted off, and their live performances were not that impressive. But their studio performances are absolutely excellent, and actually better than many so called stars you hear today on the radio. Nikki McKibbin, although she made it far never really impressed me as a live performer, yet her studio version of Janis Joplin's "Piece Of My Heart" is right on. And Ryan Starr, who started off so well but floundered later on in the show, nailed the groove with "If You Really Love Me." RJ Helton, Christina Christian, and AJ Gil also should be proud of their work.

I think each and every person on this CD who made it in the Top 10 deserve to have successful recording careers, Congratulations to all. Well done.

Free Music Review: Cool.

I listened to this CD, after liking AI2 (I didn't see AI). I must say I wasn't too impressed. I only liked Kelly and Justin. I listened to it again. I ended up liking it a lot, especially AJ Gil. He sounded really cute, and his song has quickly become one of my faves!! Forgive me, but I LIKE boy-bands. Here is my song rundown.

01. (You Make Me Feel Like A) Natural Woman - ****. I am listening to this right now. I like this.

02. Respect - *****. I LOVE this!! Vocals are so Third Favorite.

03. For Once In My Life - *****. My fave Justin song, and sooooooooo good. Second fave.

04. Get Here - ****. Really good, just not five stars.

05. Piece Of My Heart - ****. This is good.

06. A House Is Not A Home - ****. The vocals in this are incredible, but it is not one of my faves.

07. Lately - ****. Again great song, with good vocals.

08. Ain't No Sunshine - ***. This one of the weakest songs on the album. Okay, but just not as good as all the other songs on this album.

09. If You Really Love Me - ***. See above.

10. My Cherie Amour - *****!! So cute. I love this song. My absolute favorite. I don't know why exactly. I just love this.

11. I'll Be - ****. This is good, just not one of the best.

12. Easy - ****. Ditto.

13. California Dreamin' - ***. See #8 and 9.

14. A Moment Like This - *****. This is the best of Kelly's singles. Shows off her voice.

15. Before Your Love - ****. Wonderful!!

Get this!!

Free Music Review: A Moment like this Made a Moment of mine come true
Hit: 5 Stars

I watched every episode of American Idol. As I listened to every song sung and checked out every song on the cd I wished I was only 12 years younger. The new cd is a hit on my list. I just love Justin and Nikki is not too bad. She reminds me of me. As I tuned in each and every night, to the show and listned to the cd over and over, I want you to know I am a 37 year old mother of two that finally got my act together after realizing if they could do it, so can I,here is my chance to fulfill my future. I went to a modeling review that was for ages 8 to 40. Not like American Idol where you can't be older than 25. Any way I got picked and I am now in training and on my way to be a professional model. I have done one promotional modeling job for Winston at the Talladega Nascar race as a Winston girl. My second job is to be a Marlboro girl and then when my portfolio is finished I can go on to commercial modeling. I don't look my age and I have to say, I think I look pretty sexy for my age. I have to give thanks to American Idol to give me the strength and boost to get up off my butt and take charge. So as I say go team go, I hope you will say the same for me and lets get an American Idol for the middle class age please, cause I would have loved to be on American Idol Two.

Free Music Review: Essential for fans of the show
Hit: 5 Stars

"American Idol: Greatest Moments" is the companion CD to the talent show TV program that ran in 2002. The CD has 15 tracks: four performances by contest winner Kelly Clarkson (including her performances of the original songs "A Moment Like This" and "Before Your Love"), 2 perfs by runner-up Justin Guarini, one solo apiece from each of the rest of the top ten contestants, and one group performance of "California Dreamin'."

It's interesting to hear these vocal performances stripped of some of the other elements that made the TV show so memorable (and occasionally annoying): the hosts' silly banter, the judges' comments, and the shamelessly manipulative psychodrama. And most of these vocal performances are really great. Justin Guarini shows that his voice can stand alone without his oft-commented upon mop of hair. Similarly, Nikki McKibbin's full-bodied rendition of "Piece of My Heart" triumphs without the show's visual trappings. But the best performance on the disc is given by Tamyra Gray; "A House Is Not a Home" really shows off her rich, powerful voice. Bring on the solo album, Tamyra! And it's fun to try to identify each contestant during the brief solo parts on "California Dreamin'." If you loved the TV show, don't miss the CD.
