I bought this CD with high expectations, I followed the show religiously all summer, and I'm going to their concert!So I was really excited to listen to it!The CD really lived up to my expectations! The one negative thing I have to say is that not enough of the songs were on there, like the "Big Band Episode," was my favorite one, and none of those songs are featred on this compilation, but hopefully, if sales for this cd are good, they'll release others!
But this CD truly shows why these finalists all made it as far as they did, their voices are all so different, and all of the songs are very catchy! You should really make this CD a part of your collection, you won't be disappointed!

A must have for the Idol fan as well as a great Christmas gift for the "younger" and "older crowd" who might not have watched the show. The music will be familiar as it spans the past couple decades. My only disappoinment with it is the number of Kelly Clarkson songs that appear. I understand why this was changed last minute-her vocal chord problems and her own CD release date getting pushed back, but would really liked to have heard more from Nikki McKibbin and Tamyra Gray. The standout on the CD- Nikki McKibbin's "Piece of My Heart". Call your local radio-station and tell them you want to hear it. These kids were all great and desrve to be heard. I worried when purchasing this album that the songs would be the live performances but was highly surprised to find that every one of the tracks are studio recordings. The American Idol cd is amazing and each of the tracks truly allows the ten finalist to shine. Throughout the entire cd I got chills. Very few disappointments can be found on the cd. Despite the short lengths of the songs they are still wonderful and I recommend this cd to anyone and everyone who loves American Idol.Best tracks -

This CD is awesome! Kelly sounds awesome and I can't wait for her CD to be released. She has such a beautiful and powerful voice! I am so glad she is our American Idol! Justin sounds great! I hope he has releases a CD also! Tamyra, Tamyra, Tamyra! This girl gives me chills when she sings! What a beautiful song! She is going to have a wonderful career also! My little cutie, RJ sounds great! I just think he is adorable! Everyone else sounded good too! I also love California Dreamin! You don't have to be a fan of the show to abosoultly LOVE this cd! And if you are a BIG fan this cd is defiently! It includes the best songs from the show---sung only the way the AMERICAN IDOL kids could do it! Also these songs you will appreciate them---even if you didnt know them from before! (and youll just love Nikki's version of "Piece of my heart" and Kelly's rendation of "Respect"!) And if that wasnt awsome enough...it includes Kelly's AMAZING new single "Before Your Love" and the very famous "A Moment Like This"! A Must have for your cd collection!
