I listened to this CD, after liking AI2 (I didn't see AI). I must say I wasn't too impressed. I only liked Kelly and Justin. I listened to it again. I ended up liking it a lot, especially AJ Gil. He sounded really cute, and his song has quickly become one of my faves!! Forgive me, but I LIKE boy-bands. Here is my song rundown.01. (You Make Me Feel Like A) Natural Woman - ****. I am listening to this right now. I like this.
02. Respect - *****. I LOVE this!! Vocals are so gooooooooooooood. Third Favorite.
03. For Once In My Life - *****. My fave Justin song, and sooooooooo good. Second fave.
04. Get Here - ****. Really good, just not five stars.
05. Piece Of My Heart - ****. This is good.
06. A House Is Not A Home - ****. The vocals in this are incredible, but it is not one of my faves.
07. Lately - ****. Again great song, with good vocals.
08. Ain't No Sunshine - ***. This one of the weakest songs on the album. Okay, but just not as good as all the other songs on this album.
09. If You Really Love Me - ***. See above.
10. My Cherie Amour - *****!! So cute. I love this song. My absolute favorite. I don't know why exactly. I just love this.
11. I'll Be - ****. This is good, just not one of the best.
12. Easy - ****. Ditto.
13. California Dreamin' - ***. See #8 and 9.
14. A Moment Like This - *****. This is the best of Kelly's singles. Shows off her voice.
15. Before Your Love - ****. Wonderful!!

I didn't want to buy this CD at full price just because I didn't care for enough of the finalists from last season (Season 2 is another story altogether...). When I bought it on ebay, I was surprised at both extremes. From the ridiculous (Ryan Starr, Nikki McKibbin, and Ejay Day) to the sublime (Kelly Clarkson, Justin Guarini, and Tamyra Gray) this CD has a little of everything. It sort of makes me kick myself for buying Kelly's single CD, which recordings are also included here.Even though others have done the same, I'll do a little song-by-song/singer opinion breakdown:
Kelly Clarkson - This recording continues to prove that this girl can sing ANYTHING. I wished they had her hit the high bit in Natural Woman, but wasn't too disappointed. All in all, her tracks are VERY good.
Justin Guarini - A Kelly fan from the start, I've always had a mild opinion of Justin. Nonetheless, he turned out two good recordings on this CD. I don't know if I want his new CD though, after hearing him sing on AI2 two weeks ago....
Nikki McKibbin - I never REALLY liked her, although she had moments of greatness on the show. Loud, rock, screaming at times, "Piece of My Heart" is Nikki all right.
Tamyra Gray - A great voice. Still (in my opinion), no Kelly, but her live performance I remembered most was actually "A House is Not a Home" and a mixed recording is even better.
RJ Helton - He can sing all right, and I actually think this is one of the better recordings on the album. I think he was rightly ousted, but this is a good track.
Christina Christian - A good enough recording. I was never a big Christina fan. I thought her voice was a little thin and she always sounded a little flat.... Maybe my TV was off. But then my CD Player would have to be off too.
Ryan Starr - Hm. Not a Ryan fan. She was all right on this, but even now I can't remember it so well.
A.J. Gil - I think I just thought this was a dumb song for him to sing. He has an OKAY voice, but nothing spectacular.
Ejay Day - Despite continuous praise about this boy, I cannot imagine his voice is good. It sounds nasal, strained and whiny throughout and his runs often come off as annyoingly repetitive. His range is good, I'll give him that.
Jim Verraros - Blah. I hardly find it worth mentioning. It was okay, I guess.
California Dreamin' was okay, they proved you can do anything in a mix, even make this lot sound good together (they always seemed to want to be soloists, even in a group performance, no concept whatsoever of blending, not like Season 2's Top 10).
The bonus tracks are awesome, even though they are sort of cheesy songs, Kelly makes them real and stunning.
Definitely a fan CD (and for others as well, they just wouldn't appreciate it as much), I'm not disappointed I bought this if just to make a nice set with my new AI2 CD. All in all, this CD was worth it for Kelly, Justin and Tamyra, and even RJ, and also to have yet another copy of A Moment Like This and Before Your Love.

The CD is definitely worth getting (gives us a glimps of what these kids will do in the future and is very nice listening). Some tracks are better than others with Clay Aiken's version of On the Wings of Love being the best on the CD.Free Music Review: Warning! Warning!

If you are about to buy this CD because you like this year's group and didn't watch the first series - DO NOT GO ANY FURTHER. I beg of you! You will be sorely disappointed. Other than Kelly's rendition of "Natural Woman" and Tamyra's "A House is not a Home" this CD is second rate. And yes, I am including Justin Guarini in this analysis. I didn't realize how much better the second group is until I listened to this CD again. Group #1 couldn't sing together worth beans and some of the people who made it to the top ten last time around wouldn't have even gotten to Hollywood this year. Come on now, you know it's true. Save your money. I wish I had.
Free Music Review: Absolutely Wonderful

Great performances by all the contestants. Althoug hthe performances by A.J GIL and Jim Verraros were no great moments and performances like At Last by Christina Christian and almost all the performances by Tamyra were left out :(. Also, what happened to the group performances!?!?!? They only put on California Dreamin' :(
