Free Music Notes for American Idol Season 4 - The ShowstoppersFree Music Review: awsome season Hit: 5 Stars
first i have to say that this is by far the best season where i think everyone (with the exception of mikalah) in the top 12 could get a record deal!!!! way to go america! we finally got it right this year.
not sure what the correct song order it is so i'll do it in the order in which they left
Carrie(Independence Day) - amazing job! she definatly deserved to win even though i wanted a boy to win this year but she was without doubt the best singer. should've sang "Could've Been" or "Alone" 10/10
Bo(I Don't Wanna Be) - he did awsome also, and he really surprised me by making it this far because i thought he was gonna go like the first week in the top 24 but wow!!! he still should have done either "Spinning Wheel", "I'll Be" or "Vehicle" 10/10
Vonzell(The Best of my Love) - no idea why she did this song even though it was the start of amazing performances from her. she also surprised me by making it as far as she did but she deserved to also. should've done "Let's Hear it for the Boy" or "I Have Nothing" 8/10
Anthony(Every Time You Go Away) - another surprise because after he was still on the show after "The Way You Look Tonight" and "Climb Every Mountain" i was very mad because he was the worst, but..... after this song (which by the way was unbelievable), he deserved to be in the top four because he kepted getting better and better. definately pure. sang the absolute right song! 10/10
Scott(Against All Odds) - without doubt my favorite because he's the big white guy who you would never expect to make it in singing, but he is really good. he was very caring and seemed like one of the nicest people you could ever meet. i liked "Everlasting Love" more but this was the best choice for him on the CD 10/10
Constantine(My Funny Valentine) - definately the greatest performer and he was very fun to watch and i was shocked when he left, but this season was just so hard to choose. anyway, he did a great job with this song even though it was a bit boring but all i care about is that he sings it very well. should've sang "Bohemian Rhapsody" or "I Can't Make You Love Me" 9/10
Anwar(A House is Not a Home) - definatly the nicest person you've ever met! his voice was very tender and pure and his big notes just blow people away. this was not my favorite song by him but was still home. he kind of deserved to go home at that time but definatly not after that song!! i thought that was his best perfomance without a doubt! should've sang either "What's Going On" "What a Wonderful World" or "September"
9/10
Nadia(You Don't Have to Say You Love Me) - fun, enjoyable, good singer, left at the right time, didn't really care for her that much like the other contestants. it's not like i didn't like her because i did but i just wasn't that excited when she came up to sing like the other ones. right choice of song and she did very well with it 9.5/10
Nikko(Part Time Lover) - first off, SOOOO glad he came back on the show even though mario was better but i didn't really notice that mario was supposed to be singing when nikko was. i didn't really notice how good he was until i heard his songs more than just on the night he sang them. picked a good song but should've sang "Can We Talk" or "Incomplete" 10/10
Jessica(Total Elclipse of the Heart) - SHOCKED when she left in just the 3RD WEEK!!!! she was so much better than everyone else besides bo and carrie. anyway she did amazing with this song and shouldn't have sung anything else 10/10
Mikalah(God Bless the Child) - terrible, no idea how she even made the top 24 let alone hollywood, has no singing ability, sounds the same and is too cocky and she acts all confident around the judges which made her worse in the top 12 because they for some reason gave her compliments in the top 24. don't care what she sang because she sounds the same in all songs and she sounds bad in all of them 0/10
Lindsay(Knock on Wood) - she derserved to be in the top 12 and should've stayed for atleast one more week but mikalah somhow once again seemed to slip like 1 or 2 more votes than her to stay alive but she was the weakest of the other 10 even though she was good. should've sang "Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" she did amazing on that song 6.5/10
Ensemble(When You Tell Me That You Love Me) - i absolutely love this song and it was the right choice to win because the top 12 did superb with it, they especially caught the emotion in the performance 10/10
overall good CD great season, good luck to the other seasons trying to keep up with this one

AMERICAN IDOL SEASON 4 ~ THE SHOWSTOPPERS
REVIEW
American Idol, Season 4, has been filled with immense talent and star-potential. Not to mention some unexpected twists! This CD starts off with Carrie Underwood's Independence Day, an excellent, country-flared rendition, in which Carrie shows off her strong set of pipes, and winner potential. Next is Bo Bice's rendition of the Gavin DeGraw song I Don't Wanna Be, on which he does an energetic and fun job! He definitely has a star quality that so many people lack. 3rd is Vonzell's version of the classic Best of My Love. Vonzell always adds fun and energy to her performances and this one is no exception. Honestly, I am not a huge fan of Anwar Robinson, whose rendition of A House is not a Home leaves a lot to be desired in my opinion. Nadia Turner's You Don't Have To Say You Love Me is in one word Brilliant! This song shows why she had a run at the idol title! I am not a fan of Nikko's rendition of Part-Time Lover, on which the vocals cannot be given anything higher than a five out of ten, as judge Randy Jackson would say "it was just aiight man." My Funny Valentine by the inarguably good performer Constantine Maroulis is top-notch, and possibly my favorite track on the album, on the song Constantine really shows his versatility and talent, and why he was wrongly eliminated earlier in the competition. Jessica's `Total Eclipse of the Heart' is very dramatic and overly produced, but has the ability to give someone chills. Her voice is very pure and powerful, a definite favorite of mine on the CD! Anthony Fedorov's Every Time You Go Away proves that he has far more potential than Season 2's Runner-up Clay Aiken, his voice is fun and pure! This is probably the most fun track on the CD! What can I say about Scott Savol? He is just another Marvin Gaye wannabe. His version of Against All Odds isn't too bad, but it just falls flat in parts, he definitely didn't deserve to make it all the way to 5th place (or into the top 12 for that matter!) Lindsey Cardinale, the first to be eliminated from the top 12, does her best with Knock On Wood - and how good is her rendition? It shows off Lindsey's deep vocals in a fun and energetic way. This is one of those tracks that you either love or hate - and personally, I love it. Mikalah Gordon, a personal favorite of mine, sings God Bless the Child in a moving and beautiful way! As Mikalah might say it's "FABULOUS!" And finally, When You Tell Me that You Love Me, the group song, just reinforces the talent of Bo, Carrie and Constantine, while several other contestants are left in the dust - however, it's a great song!

7. My Funny Valentine - Constantine Maroulis 9.8 #4
8. Total Eclipse of the Heart - Jessica Sierra 9.9 #2

13. When You Tell Me That You Love Me 9.3 #7
Free Music Review: Mikalah kicks ass! Hit: 5 Stars
Ok first of all, here's all my ratings.
Carrie:7/10-I think she did awesome but should've sang Alone. Her vocals are strong but they are very common.
Bo:3/10-I think he did pretty bad compared to what he does normally does. I expected way better, plus his voice is too shaky.
Vonzell:10/10-Amazing! This song was made for her. Damn she has a friggen' good voice!
Anwar:2/10-He did horrible! He could have done way better!
Nadia:9/10-She did great. This song is so fun and cool. She should've have stayed in the competition a little longer.
Nikko:6/10-He sounds too much like Usher. He should've have picked a way better song but his vocals were OK.
Constantine:5/10-He so full of himself and I hate him. Did you see the way he looked into the camera on the show. Anyway, putting that aside, his vocals were not great but they were OK.
Jessica:5/10-I like this song but Jessica could've done way better. It felt like she was forcing the vocals out, like she wasn't comfortable. But I liked it a little bit.
Anthony:10/10-I love this song and Anthony's really cool. His voice sounded great.
Scott:4/10-I think his voice was all electronic and digital because there's no way he could sound that good. I like the song so that's what makes me listen to it.
Lindsey:1/10-Horrible. That was almost painful to listen to. The songs okay so thats why I gave her 1 star. She sucks and she sounds like a man.
Mikalah:10/10-Amazing! She has improved. She didn't do to good on "Love Will Lead You Back." I love her voice and the song, She is so good! God, I Love Her!
Ensemble:10/10-Awesome. There were solos from everyone except Nadia, Scott, and Jessica. I didn't like that. Lindsey should not have got a solo, Nadia should have took that. And Anwar's solo right before the first chorus should have been Jessica's. Scott can't sing so he doesn't deserve a solo. Vonzell had a lot of solos so I think her solo in the second verse should've been Mikalah's. Mikalah was just turned up on the volume so you could hear her over everyone else in the second chorus. She should've got a proper solo.
The CD is awesome except for Anwar,Bo,Lindsey, and Constantine who did horrible. The people that did OK were Nikko,Jessica, and Scott. The people that did amazing were Carrie, Vonzell,Nadia,Anthony, and Mikalah. This CD has shown how good they can really be good. Vonzell and Mikalah's vocals are amazing. Mikalah is really good and if she could show that on the show more, she would still be on it. She did awesome on the shows, but she had 2 bad performances. I love Mikalah so much. I hope she gets a record deal because I will be the first to buy it. She is so amazing. She has a great voice, she's really hot, and she actually showed a personality on the show. Mikalah if you read this I love you and please make a CD because you still have a lot and a lot of fans.
So This CD is definetely worth buying, for the trainwrecks(Lindsey, Anwar, Bo) and the high points (Vonzell, Mikalah) so go out and buy it!
Free Music Review: Mainly Showstoppers, Some Could've Been Better... Hit: 5 Stars
This past season of American Idol was probably the best the competition has seen so far, in terms of talent. I can personally see each one of the top twelve scoring a record deal, and even some of the bottom twelve semifinalists. So, without further ado, here's my review.
1) "Independence Day" Carrie Underwood-I knew from the minute I saw her audition in St. Louis that I wanted her to win and she did. Great cover of the song although I would've prefered her rendition of "Alone" (my favorite song ever). You go girl!
2) "I Don't Want To Be" Bo Bice-I'm glad Bo was in the final two with Carrie, it made for a good ending to the season. That said, Bo sings this better than Gavin DeGraw does and that by itself shows that he deserves to go places in the business.
3) "Best Of My Love" Vonzell Solomon-I loved Vonzell up until her little crying episode, then I got extremely bored and irritated with her. That aside, the girl can still sing and it shows on this flawless vocal.
4) "A House Is Not A Home" Anwar Robinson-Hate the song, hate him, nuff said.
5) "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me" Nadia Turner-Classic Nadia, perfect vocal, wouldn't expect anything less.
6) "Part-Time Lover" Nikko Smith-One of my favorite songs on the album, Nikko can really sing and he nailed this Stevie Wonder classic.
7) "My Funny Valentine" Constantine Maroulis-Constantine was really annoying with his camera eyes thing and this song was a horrible choice to record.
8) "Total Eclipse Of The Heart" Jessica Sierra-I loved Jessica and I love this song (one of the best of the 80's in my opinion). I also like how she put her twist on it instead of trying to replicate Bonnie Tyler's husky vocals.
9) "Everytime You Go Away" Anthony Federov-Great singer, bad song selection.
10) "Against All Odds" Scott Savol-Every week it mystified me why he kept making it through but when I listen to this, Scott's a great studio singer, that's about it.
11) "Knock On Wood" Lindsey Cardinale-After Carrie and Jessica, Lindsey was my favorite. I love her deep soulful voice and I think she does an amazing job on this song. In fact it's my favorite on the album. If only she would have picked material that would have complemented her voice better, she would have been a serious threat to the top seven.
12) "God Bless The Child" Mikalah Gordon-Okay, as much flack as Mikalah takes, give her a break, the girl does have a good voice and it shows on this.
13) "When You Tell Me That You Love Me" Group-Amazing song. Love it.
Free Music Review: American Idol: Showstoppers? Hit: 5 Stars
Independence Day (Carrie Underwood) - She makes a good recording voice. It sounded practically the same as the live version, which is a good thing.
I Don't Want to Be (Bo Bice) - he also sounds good in the recording. He probably lacks the vocal range of the other finalists, but I like the tone of his voice. Simple and straightforward.
Best of my Love (Vonzell Solomon) - Now this is a showstopper. This is probably my favorite track in the album. Her personality shines and the vocals were spot on.
Everytime You Go Away (Anthony Federov) - I love this song but I definitely prefer his live version. His phrasing was a little odd and he somehow lost the angsty and vocal simplicity of the live version
Against All Odds (Scott Savol) - He lacked the conviction that the song needs. But it's ok, just not exactly a showstopper
A House is not a Home (Anwar Robinson) - This rendition is bland as it gets. It's surprising that for someone who is a voice coach, most of his performances in AI lacked the emotional impact the song needs. And this one is no exception. Void of any trace of emotion.
My Funny Valentine (Constantine Maroulis) - I prefer the live version.. and he should've sung Bohemian Rhapsody
Total Eclipse of the Heart (Jessica Siera) - This one is much better than her live performance. At least here she felt the angst of the song. But still she's a very limited singer. She's already on the edge of her vocals even though the keys were already lowered for her
Knock on Wood (Lindsay Cardinelli) - She sounds better here, but still that doesn't say much. I've never been a fan of her voice, it's too breathy, and low, and scratchy
You Don't Have to say You Love Me (Nadia Turner) - This is a better rendition because she sounds more comfortable with her vocals. She is also a limited singer, especially in terms of breathing. She can't hold long notes and usually she lets go of the note prematurely.
God Bless the Child (Mikalah Gordon) - Not a fan of her voice, it's too over the top and breathy. But to be fair her voice sounds better here.
Part Time Lover (Nikko Smith) - This is my other favorite (other Best of my Love). He sounds so good on CD and his voice is soaring the entire song not to mention that this is a hard song to sing.
When You tell me Tell Me That You Love - I did not like it. The voices of the idols together don't exactly sound well.
