Free Music Notes for American Idol Season 4 - The Showstoppers

Free Music Review: AI4 is the best season of all
Hit: 5 Stars

I was so thrilled to see the American Idol season 4 cd on my nightstand after school yesterday. I have been very excited with all the amazing talent this year. Although I disagree with some song choices, they are still good alturnatives. This is what I think of each song...

Carrie Underwood "Independence Day" - 10/10
Bo Bice "I Don't Want To Be - 6/10
Vonzell Solomon "Best Of My Love" - 10/10
Anthony Fedorov "Everytime You Go Away" - 10/10
Nadia Turner "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me" - 7/10
Constantine Maroulis "My Funny Valentine" - 4/10
Jessica Sierra "Total Eclipse of the Heart" - 10/10
Scott Savol "Against All Odds (Take A Look At Me Now)" - 9/10
Nikko Smith "Part-Time Lover" - 9/10
Anwar Robinson "A House Is Not A Home" - 8/10
Lindsey Cardinale "Knock On Wood" - 8/10
Mikalah Gordon "God Bless The Child" - 8/10
Ensemble "When You Tell Me That You Love Me" - 10/10

I absolutely loved the songs by Carrie, Anthony, Vonzell and Jessica. I don't care for Bo, but he did an okay job. I'm not crazy about Nadia, but she did good. Scott impressed me, nice job. Nikko really surprised me. I don't care for him, but he did good. I love Anwar, but I wasn't crazy about the song choice. "What A Wonderful World" would have been a better choice. I love Lindsey and Mikalah and I though they did okay, but they deserved better arrangements. The song I am most disappointed about is Constantine's song. "My Funny Valentine" is a very weird song and he could do better, like "Bohemian Rhapsody" or "Kiss From A Rose". The only person who can pull off "My Funny Valentine" is season 3's John Stevens. I love Con, but he deserved a better song.

Jessica's haunting rendition of "Total Eclipse of the Heart" is probably my favorite on the album. Over all, I'd give American Idol Season 4 - The Showstoppers a 5 out of 5 for a amazing job well done!

Free Music Review: The Best of AI 2004
Hit: 5 Stars

Just bought this CD yesterday and I immediately enjoyed it. It highlights the most of the best performances of the 2004 AI finalist, although not all of them. Constantine should have sang "Bohemian Rhapsody" instead of "My Funny Valentine", the former was definetely the signature song for him that makes him stands out from the competition.

The performance of the top two finalists (Carrie and Bo) was good. Carrie did well on "Independence Day," her signature song, although I would have prefer to see her singing "Alone," which I think was her best performance in the competition. I also like Bo singing the theme of "One Tree Hill" better than his usual signature, "Vehicle."

I'm delighted that the album includes the songs sang by two singers that I think should be in the top five (or even the top two): Nadia Turner and Jessica Sierra (instead of Scotty the (tune out) Body and that Russian teenager). In "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me", Nadia shows that she IS the real diva of the show (rather than Vonzell, her song on this CD was disappointing), it was too bad she made some poor song choices that made her eliminated early in the game.

The same goes for Jessica, her "Total Eclipse of the Heart," both on stage and on this album really blows me away. She got eliminated early because unfortunately, the show's producers have decided that there should only be one blonde country singer in the show, and it's not Jessica. I wish that wish other recording outlets would take a second look at these fine women, they would definetely makes records that would sells well (even matching the winner's record).

The tunes of the other finalists were good as well, although not as good as the singers I highlighted above. Overall, a good album that was successful in showcasing most of the best tunes from AI 2004.

Free Music Review: great
Hit: 5 Stars

Heres my opinion on the cd.

carrie underwood-independence day 15/10 my favorite idol by far!Her vocals are outstanding!!

bo bice-i dont wanna be 8/10 He should of chosen a different song. this song is too new and personally i like gavin degraw's version better. But Bo is still a very good singer

vonzell solomon-best of my love 9/10 this song is definately for her

nikko smith-part time lovers 10/10 his voice is perfect for this song

jessica sierra-total eclipse of the heart 10/10 WOW!!! I took me a couple times of listening to this song for me to like it. But after those couple times, Jessica's voice is amazing and she sang this song really good

lindsey cardinale-knock on wood 10/10 i think lindsey is a great singer and this showed she shouldnt of been kicked off first

mikalah gordon-god bless the child 9/10 about 1/2 of the reviews hate mikalahs song but i dont see whats so bad about it. i think people need to give her a little more credit.

When You Tell Me That You Love Me 7/10 This song is a great song lyrically and vocally but i only give it 7 because this song is extremely biased. It should practically be called Vonzells Song because she sings almost 3/4 of it. You can hear mikalah and lindsey for maybe 5 seconds. They should of been given equal parts!

Overall This is a wonderful cd and you should probably go buy it :)

Free Music Review: This is an outstanding collection of vocal performances
Hit: 5 Stars

I really enjoyed listening to this CD. My favorite track is Carrie Underwood's cover of the Martina McBride song Independence Day. It is a great country tune about what a woman does to get out of an abusive relationship. Bo Bice is another one of my favorite contestants. I love his energy on the track I Don't Want To Be. It is an awesome rock song about trying to stay true to yourself. I also liked Constantine's version of My Funny Valentine. He has a sexy voice and sings this song well. Lindsay Cardinale's performance of Knock On Wood is very spirited and fun. I liked this song very much. Another noteworthy track on this album is Jessica Sierra's performance of Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of The Heart. She sings this song with a lot of emotion and feeling, and I loved it.Vonzell Solomon sings the disco classic Best of My Love with a lot of spirit. I really liked her rendition of this fun song.

Every Time You Go Away is one of my favorite songs. Anthony does a good job singing it. His voice conveys the sense of loss pretty well. Anwar Robinson has a beautiful voice. His performance of A House Is Not A Home is very moving and soulful. Season 4 Showstoppers is a collection of outstanding vocal performances. I think that most of these contestants are capable of having successful careers in music. This is one of the best American Idol CDs in my opinion.

Free Music Review: This is a very good CD
Hit: 5 Stars

This CD contains the best vocal performances from the 12 American Idol contestants. Even though Carrie Underwood won, I think this CD proves that all of these contestants are talented performers. Carrie sings a great rendition of the Martina McBride's Independence Day. I think Carrie is a versatile singer who is capable of singing any style of music. My other favorite track is Nadia Turner's rendition of You Don't Have To Say You Love Me. Her voice has a soaring dramatic quality that sounds very pretty. I also liked Nikko Smith's cover of Part Time Lover. I think he captures the soulful pop spirit of this song well. His vocal performance on this track is very nice. I think that Mikalah Gordon's performance of God Bless The Child is another highlight for me. She takes a classic song and gives it her own personal touch. Her vocal quality on this song is just awesome. Anwar Robinson's voice tugs at your emotions on the song A House Is Not a Home. I think this is a very pretty love song. Best Of My Love is one of my favorite dance songs, and I think that Vonzell Solomon does a superb job covering it. Lindsay Cardinale does a good job singing Knock On Wood. This song really gets me moving every time I hear it. Constantine's mesmerized me with his sensual voice on My Funny Valentine. I really enjoyed listening to this CD.
