Free Music Notes for American Idol Season 5 EncoresFree Music Review: Taylor is new, fresh and SOULFUL! Hit: 5 Stars
Taylor Hicks is fresh and new and yes different, which is WHY so many love him, his style and his music! He is not only a singer, but an accomplished muscian and songwriter to boot! How many of today's teeny-poppers can ACTUALLY claim all that!?
Tammy(amazon reviewer)needs to clean her ears out of The Wiggles and Barney and take a real ADULT listen to the talent of not only Taylor Hicks, but several of the great singers on this CD!! Shame for amazon ALLOWING her to BASH a huge fanbase by name! AMERICA has spoken and had the FINAL word via Taylor's big win-so let the 'real world' decide what we like, AGAIN, Tammy and keep your childish, snide comments out of your reviews! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! 'Paid reviewers' are a joke anyways-low-ladder 'reporters' who can't get any other work. Its what the general population like, each and every individual person and I never let a so-called 'pro review' sway me one way or the other! I'm not only a PROUD member of the Soul Patrol, but a big advocate and participater of word-of-mouth advertising-which is MUCH BIGGER than 'reviews' by people being paid for their trite opinions! The general population knows better and more-our word is final and so are where our $$$$ are spent!!
Free Music Review: Elliott Yamin - The TRUE Season 5 American Idol Hit: 5 Stars
I love American Idol and buy the albums every year. They are usually just so-so, with the occasional stand-out song. This year's CD is no exception. The majority of the songs are ok, but the one that really stands out (and the only reason I gave this CD 5 stars) is Track #9, "Moody's Mood for Love", sung by Elliott Yamin.
This boy can SING, and it is both a shock and a shame that he isn't this year's American Idol. If you listen to Elliott's song, then follow it up by listening to America's "Top 2" - Taylor Hicks and Katharine McPhee - I believe that you too will realize how unfortunate it is that these two mediocre talents were picked over the INCREDIBLE talent of Elliott Yamin.
Elliott was the true American Idol this year - he had no gimmicks, no prior training or experience, and a heart of gold. Isn't the point of the show supposed to be finding America's best undiscovered talent? Taylor already has an album out, and Katharine is an accomplished musical theatre actress who was trained at the Boston Conservatory. But even with all their experience, I know in my heart that Elliott will outsell those two "idols" by a mile. I will be first in line when his album is released.
Free Music Review: This CD is very entertaining Hit: 5 Stars
This CD contains songs from all different music genres, and I think the contestants perform their songs well. Most of these people will have very successful music careers. Think by Katharine McPhee is my favorite track. I think she has a beautiful voice. Taylor's version of Taking It To the Streets is so upbeat and energetic. Mandisa sings an awesome version of I'm Every Woman. There is an uplifting quality in her voice that I like. I also like Elliott's version of Moody's in the Mood for love. I think he has a very relaxing voice. Chris Daughtry's performance of Dead or Alive is very good too. I love the rock edge quality in his voice. Ace has a very sexy voice. He gives a good rendition of Father Figure. Kellie Pickler gives a very unique rendition of Walking After Midnight. Her voice is very appealing. Melissa belts out a very sensual rendition of What About Love. I have always liked this song. Paris' version of Midnight Train to Georgia is soulful and enjoyable. Kevin gives a decent performance of When I Fall in Love. Even though he isn't the best singer, there is a romantic quality in Kevin's voice. I really enjoyed listening to this CD.
Free Music Review: Tammy La Gorce Hit: 5 Stars
Coming from a HIPPY in Texas.....
Well well well....another one of the "few" who just don't get it when it comes to Taylor Hicks. Sorry your in deaf "soul".
Seems America wanted the NON-typical kinda guy. No pop!
We've heard enough of Chris, Paris was great, just too young.
Mandisa, always the beautiful and talented.....Kat? Too broadway, which is exactly where she wants to be....
Kelly? Good, but not my kinda pickle. Elliot? Along side of Taylor he should have been! (Soul train!)
The remainder? Just didn't float my boat, along with about 68% of the voters. Just goes to show you, what you call GREAT is what we call "same ole, same ole". BORING.
Taylor and Elliot were the best....different, but just as awesome. You can't possibly believe that what's been proven gives you the right to think you don't like Taylor. Guess you should of voted for Chris! (probably wouldn't of helped much).
Sorry once again to you Tammy....some people "got soul" others can't even eat it.
From one rocker to the other.

Free Music Review: ACE YOUNG-POP STAR IN THE MAKING Hit: 5 Stars
It makes me mad when people look at these talented kids as just reality show characters. They have all been struggling musicians trying to achieve their dream in any way possible. Katharine McPhee is poised and beautiful, and while "Think' isn't my favorite choice for her, she can sing anything. I'm really looking forward to her album. Lisa Tucker is a sixteen year old who excelled on Whitney-type ballads, but still needs a few years to perfect herself. Once she does, watch out. The cute little thing has a BIG voice. I feel her personality was too reserved and classy to catch the attention of America. Then there's Ace Young. Many viewed this gorgeous 25 year old as just eye candy. I can say with 100% assurance that is not the case. His take on George Michael is arguably better than the original. Ace expresses star quality and sensuality that I have not seen from a new artist in a long time. I feel he is Justin Timberlake with a better voice and sweeter personality. Look out for this guy, his original material is amazing.
