Free Music Notes for Rock of Ages: Hymns & FaithFree Music Review: Creative....Not Hit: 2 Stars
I would have to agree with "Okie" that Amy's stuff is not nearly as good as it used to be. In fact, her creativity has gone downhill dramaticall in the last 7-8 years. When she was married to Gary Chapman, I know the relationship was rocky, but he was the flint that sharpened her musical steel. Now, she has become a little vince clone.
Free Music Review: A disappointment Hit: 2 Stars
What more can I say. These hymns are such a part of my history that when I heard this CD, I was sorely disappointed. Too much tinkering. Amy Grant has such talent, it's too bad she blew it with what could have been a slam dunk with a more straightforward treatment.
Free Music Review: not as good as legacy Hit: 2 Stars
it's ok if you love country mucis mixed with hymns.
it's the continuation of legacy but it's definately not as good as legacy.
It's ok i guess, nothing "WOW" about it though.
Free Music Review: I Miss the Salt and Light Human Amy Hit: 2 Stars
Lead Me On, Heart in Motion, House of Love. These songs spoke to imperfect humans, trying to achieve something greater. This and Legacy panders back to her preaching to the choir days.
Free Music Review: Too Much Vince, Not Enough Amy Hit: 2 Stars
Amy Grant's albums used to be ground-breaking, fresh and innovative. Not any more. She has lost her identity to Vince Gill. How sad. What more can I say?
