Free Music Review: So good it's tragic...

There is nothing like this album or this artist, anywhere. It's honest blunt,jazzy and like another reviewer said... perfection. I haven't listened to anyone in recent years that has such a talent and it's sad that her personal life will impede her glorious talent from shining through.
Her latest album has more a 60's influence whereas this one has a lot of jazz influence. It's more polite than some of her latest lyrical offerings but razor sharp nonetheless. She remakes "Moody's Mood for Love" which is done impeccably and in her style. The first two songs are very strong starts and "In my Bed" is pure genius using a Nas beat as a backdrop. I have to give it to her she knows how to pick her rappers, using Ghostface Killah on Back to Black was the best choice for the Rehab remix.
Anyone with any taste in R&B will love this, its a rare thing to find someone who can sing like Amy.

In my opinion, the CD, 'FRANK' by Amy Winehouse is VASTLY superior to her second release, 'BACK TO BLACK.' And 'BACK TO BLACK' is a GREAT piece of work. It is as one reviewer pointed out. 'FRANK' is ABSOLUTE PERFECTION. ABSOLUTE PERFECTION! It is the ONLY CD I have been listening to for the past month. I just cannot get over it! It brings tears to my eyes. Its beauty is beyond description. As with another reviewer, it is the only CD in my truck. My favorites are EACH and EVERY song. Particularly, MR. MAGIC, IN MY BED, TAKE THE BOX, STRONGER THAN ME, and YOU SENT ME FLYING, KNOW YOU NOW, WHAT IS IT ABOUT MEN, I HEARD LOVE IS BLIND, AMY AMY AMY, MOODY'S MOOD FOR LOVE, OCTOBER SONG, OUTRO, and F*** ME PUMPS. In that order. If Amy is able to solve her drinking, and man problems, she just may go on to become the greatest female singer/songwriter of our time. I wish her well.Free Music Review: Perfection

I stumbled upon Amy Winehouse through a music profile on a friend's myspace page. The song was "Back To Black" from the same-titled recent release.
I was completely blown away by the sound. Her voice is like silk over the tripped up beats and rehash of the 1960's.
I looked deeper into her book of work and picked up "Frank". While "Back to Black" is a flawless piece of work... "Frank" is simply perfection. It's much simplier but in it's simplicity lies it's beauty. She allows the beats to remain scarce so that her voice is the anchor to each song.
This album is definitely worth hunting for.

i'm always one discovering new artists. i bought this cd as an import LONG before her "back to black" album and lost it during a move into a new place. i'm sooooo happy that it was released in the U.S. but it is missing 2 (maybe 3) tracks from the original album. her voice is just so mind blowing. my favorite tracks are stronger than me, you sent me flying, in my bed (love the salaam remi produced track borrowed from nas' made you look), cherry, f*** me pumps, help yourself, & her cover of quincy jones' moody's mood for love.
definitely a MUST buy!!!

I absolutely LOVE Amy's "Frank" cd. I purchased it after buying Back to Black and after listening to bits of it on Amazon. I found Frank a little lighter than Back to Black and it kinda has a slight hip hop/R&B feel. I can honesly say I LOVE every song except one, and that one isn't that bad. My favorite song is Stronger Than Me. Amy always tells it like it is...lol. I am totally an Amy fan. I pray that she gets her personal life together. It would be a waste of a God given talent to lose her. She's awesome. Get it together Amy!
