I fell in love with this album upon the first listen. The deep rumblings of the bass voices were felt more than heard while the tenors soared gorgeously above. The complexity of the harmonies can mostly be attributed to the composers but the perfect balance of all the voices in the harmonies is what sets this album apart from others. I don't understand Russian, but I can hear the praise, the awe, the humbleness. It's beautiful and it soothes my soul...I turn to it when I'm hurting and feel the rawness subside. This album is simply an incredible display of the full range of the Male voice, in singular tone and group unity. The sweetness of the tenors, blending with the deep basses in harmonic unity is a tonal experience you have to hear to fully appreciate. These choral selections will easily let you get lost in the emotional blending of the voices, stirring your emotions, or will wrap around your mood as you get lost in your own thoughts. NO matter that you don't understand the words. Like Opera, the vocal tones and blending harmonies will grab you over and over. The last 40 seconds of selection #2, or last minute 10 secs of #6 are well worth the price of this CD, but in truth every song is awesome. A must for every fan of male choral or deep voices. I have rarely been touched by choral music this way: such deep joy to have found this gem. It is always encouraging to still find an oasis in music where the hectic work stress peels off rapidly. Like a cleansing bath in cool water. I have played this CD often with great reverence for the joy it gives. If you are interested in something totally different to add to your favorites this can't be topped. Even after only a week it is at the top of my list. Thanks Amazon!!!Free Music Review: Glorious

This Awesome, ethereal, heavenly ANCIENT ECHOES was a gift of my friend, Dick Talley last year. Seldom does my early awakening miss listening to these choral chants of the Orthodox Monastery!
If I could choose the more interesting, comforting, fasinating polyphonic chants, they would be No.3 "The Only Begotten Son" of Golovanov, No.5 "The Lord Speaketh" and No.6 "Glory be to God in the highest" both by Bortnyansky!
Only Russian Choral Treasures are equally awesome, spiritually refreshing. When I awaken every morning around 4:00, I began listening to both these recordings, before reading or praying for friends, such as, Dick and Anita Talley.
