Free Music Review: If you're lucky in love
Hit: 5 Stars

I can't get enough of this CD by Andrea Bocelli. His opera work was familiar to me but this collection of romantic popular songs was a truly welcome present. Spanish, Italian, French and English tunes create a mellow atmosphere, with great accompaniment and some interesting vocal pairings.

Each of the fourteen tracks brings its own rewards but a few stand out for me. "Besame Mucho," the best version I ever heard of this romantic classic, is passionate and moody. "Mi Manchi (I Miss You)" pairs Bocelli with the incomparable Kenny G; the sentimental sound of the song matches the poignant lyrics so do check out a translation (unfortunately not included in the insert -- the only thing I'd change).

The fifth track is the unexpectedly lush "Somos Novios (It's Impossible)" in which former Mouseketeer Christina Aguilera joins Bocelli for a dreamy little duet. A couple of tracks further along Mario Reyes lends a sizzling flamenco guitar accompaniment to "Jurame (Promise Me)."

"Canzoni Stonate (Songs out of Tune)" is another duet, this time with Stevie Wonder. It's a good thing this one is in Italian, since the English translation tells a dodgy story -- but the sound is very appealing.

We have more great guitar accompaniment in "L'Appuntamento;" and the CD makes a strong finish with English and Italian versions of the inspirational "Because We Believe."

These and the other seven tracks on "Amore" add up to a romantic feast. I'm very impressed with Andrea Bocelli's versatility and with the production of this CD. "Amore" was released for Valentine's Day 2006, and it will stand the test of many Valentine's Days to come. If you are lucky in love, you'll want to cuddle up next to your special someone and enjoy this dreamy music.

Free Music Review: There are no Words
Hit: 5 Stars

"If God had a voice, it would be the one of Andrea Bocelli". Those words, were uddered by Celine Dion and in my opinion dont do the man justice. His voice has bound within it such passion, that it is a rarely ever experienced. You only need to hear his voice for a second, to be touched in such a powerful way. His songs have given me a peace when the world gets really tough and, at times have even brought me to tears. This CD is no exception. The team, which consists of David Foser, Humberto Garcia, Tony Renis, and of Course Andrea Bocelli, has to be one of the greatest ever ssembled for an alblum.
The alblum has a mellow flare to it, one could see it being played in a very cafe like seeting. Which thus makes it very different from Andreas other more classically inspired pop alblums. On it, are other great artists as well. Kenny G,sounds amazing as he lends his beautiful clarinet to "Mi Manchi", Stevie Wonder lends his voice ( which he would of done better to leave out) as well as his harmonica, on "Canzoni Stonate", and of course classically Trained Christina Aguilera lends her talent to the Spanish version of Perry Comos "Its impossible", entitled "Somos Novios".
Technically, the CD sounds great, the arrangements for many of the songs keep true to the originals, but also add a new flare to it. Since his last alblum it also looks like Andrea english has imporved, his version of "Cant Help Falling in love" is great. Christina Auguileras skill can be dabated, she doesnt sound bad, but it sounds as though she has lost some of her skill or is plainly not strong enough to keep up with Andreas, humble, yet majestic tenor.
All in all the CD is great, I cannot say enough about it. I can only hope that Andrea and his great team come out with more, like this, quick.

Free Music Review: La bella musica di amore
Hit: 5 Stars

If I hadn't been blessed with this CD as a wonderful birthday present from my bonus daughter, I may have committed a crime in rush hour traffic by now. Seriously. Several days a week I listen to this CD driving to and from my office. By the time I arrive at my destination, I am a pussycat dreamily purring in abeyance as if following Pan's magical flute.

The enchanting music of Andrea Bocelli's Amore CD transports me to a romantic gondola ride through the canals of Venice, or a stolen kiss at midnight at Fontana di Trevi. Every cut is exquisitely orchestrated and leaves me hungry for more. With some CDs I am tempted to pass over a tune or two, but not with this one. I give every song my full attention and like a five course gourmet meal prepared by a brilliant chef, I am fully surprised and satiated with each one Bocelli dishes up.

The first cut, Amapola, conjures a delicious sweetness that puts a delicate smile on my lips and keeps me humming along. Besame Mucho remains with me for hours with it's deep, sensual tone. Bocelli's dreamy version of Autumn Leaves has me floating along with River Seine or Parc Du Champ De Mars in the fall.

A melding of some other wonderful talents with Bocelli brings this music up a notch -- Kenny G's warm sax accompanying Bocelli on Mi Manchi, a dynamic duet with Christine Aguilera on It's Impossible, and Canzoni Stonate featuring Steve Wonder's haunting harmonica and vocals.

Thanks to prolific pop producer David Foster, Andrea Bocelli and company take us on a musically fragrant and lush journey of love songs worth much more than the price of this CD.

Free Music Review: The language of love is universal
Hit: 5 Stars

Regardless of which language he chooses to sing, Bocelli's love songs strike all the right chords for a great romantic evening, just in time for Valentine's Day.

Italian, Spanish, French or English, these are songs you've heard before, just not quite like this. The world renowned tenor warms up with "Amapola", then launches into a stirring version of "Besame Mucho" a huge hit from way back in the 1940s. You'll find "Les Feuilles Mortes" very familiar, until you remember the song "Autumn Leaves", and then you'll be a little puzzled by the pronunciation of "Mi Manchi" which sounds like something else altogether.

An unlikely pairing with Christina Aguilera of "Dirrty" fame for "Somos Novios" make "It's Impossible" seem quite possible after all, and "Solamente Una Vez" is more familiar to Elvis fans as "You Belong To My Heart". Then comes "Jurame" (Think Of Me); "Pero Te Extraño" from the 1960s; Italian hit "Canzoni Stonate" this time with Stevie Wonder; "L'Appuntamento" a song with Brazilian roots; and the ever popular "Cuando Me Enamoro" a.k.a. "A Man Without Love".

You can't have a Valentine's album without "Can't Help Falling in Love", so here it is, in English, but a Live version. Two more beautiful tracks round out the album, versions of the song "Because We Believe" in English and Italian.

If you're in love, or hoping to be soon, you need to get this album before February 14.

Free Music Review: This is beautiful music
Hit: 5 Stars

Amore is the first CD I ever bought that contains music from various languages, and I love it. I was fortunate to find the English translations to these songs. I enjoy them a lot more now that I understand what Andrea is singing about. Amore is the Italian word for love and the music on CD is absolutely lovely. Producer David Foster did a great job putting the musical arrangements on each of these tracks.

My favorite track is Besame Mucho. This song is about the power and the meaning behind a kiss. Andrea's vocals on this song are so sensual. Amapola is a sweet simple song about comparing the beauty of the poppy flower to the feelings of love a person can have for someone else. Jurame is another highlight on this CD. I enjoyed the upbeat tempo of this track very much. La Appuntamento is a lovely Italian song about waiting for a loved one to arrive. I really enjoyed the guitar playing accompanying Andrea on this track. I think it sounds very romantic. Sovios Novios is an excellent Spanish duet featuring Christina Aguilera. It is about the ups and downs of a couple in love. Can't Help Falling in Love is one of the prettiest songs of all time, and I love the way Andrea sings it. Solamente Una Vez is a beautiful song about what it feels like to fall in love only once in your life and to remember it forever. I enjoyed this CD very much, and I would recommend it to anyone.
