I had the extreme privilege of seeing Andrea Bocelli in concert in Chicago this past Friday (June 12, 2009) and heard the "Incanto" album from the great himself. The whole entire album (concert) is in Italian. I know, when in Italy do as the Italians do. But when in America, sing in English. I know, too, the lyrics change when sung/translated into English, but I sat there the whole concert very disappointed that all the songs were sung in Italian. I've come to know and love Andrea Bocelli for his English sung songs. I've waited with bated breath for him to come back to America to sing, and how lucky was I that he came to Chicago!!! But we paid $200 a piece for nose-bleed seats to hear his lovely voice, only to be extremely disappointed that this Incanto album that he promoted is entirely in Italian. He said a few short statements in English, but sung no songs in English. If you want to hear him sing Italian, buy this album. I sure wish someone had told me his entire concert was in Italian and not English as I surely would not have wasted $400, but bought $400 worth of his English-songs instead. His voice was superb, the tone exquisite and he received 10-standing ovations (or more) as I lost count. We waited a long time for him to come to Chicago and we were going to get our money's worth to hear his voice as long as we could stay and as long as he could stand to sing.Free Music Review: Does Bocelly ride a bike?

From Andrea picture cover, it looks like he just got off his bike. I wouldn't be surprised that he took a ride, because the way people drive in Italy... blindfolded. I think that this CD was produced in a similar way, deaf folded. When I read the song titles, I did not bother to listen or buy the CD. I heard each song million times, sang by million singers. Do I need Mr. Bocelli to prove me that he is better then some other singers? No, I don't. I know he is better, but I want new songs, new material. I need to hear new music by great singer, I need great marriage of the new songs and great voice, like Andreas. Maybe his managers want to play safe and make him sing standards. My friend's Grandma is enjoying his CD, it reminds her of her childhood.

I purchased this CD thinking it would be great. I am very disappointed in it. It is not the usual Bocelli music I have loved for the past few years, I find it more opera and not to my liking. I would not recommend this CD to others if they like me, like Andrea's previous PBS shows. This is not in the same class.

Not familiar with the songs. Sung in foreign language. Songs that are sung in foreign language can be enjoyable if you are familiar with the melody.
