As for myself being a musician, this album is one of greatest inspirational works I stumbled upon. Too bad that metaphors and deeper meaning of lyrics (I'd rather say "singing poetry") appear to be too hard to understand and appreciate for some "hardcore" fans. Yet his lyrics regards to mythology, legends and cultural fundamentals which might be unfamiliar for those who skipped they literacy and history classes in their school days ;)
Andreas created absolutely unique and self-contained album which is not to be compared with anything else.
Eolian Minstrel Poster
After a two-year break from recording, Swiss harpist Andreas Vollenweider returned with Eolian Minstrel, which marks a radical reworking of his music. The most obvious departure is the composer's collaboration with lyricists/vocalists Eliza Gilkyson (on most tracks) and Carly Simon (on one).
