Free Music Notes for Whistle Down The Wind (1998 Original London Cast)Free Music Review: OUTSTANDING!!! Hit: 5 Stars
I just recently saw Whistle Down the Wind in London and I have to say it was amazing. I always thought Jekyl and Hyde was my favorite musical (check that out too if you would like) but once I saw WDTW I knew my favorite was now second fav. Whistle has a very unique and ingenius plot line and the music is beautiful. I give props to Andrew Loyd Webber for his amazing thought process to think of this and his wonderful gift of scoring music. If you havent ever heard WDTW get it now. I promise you, take my word, that even if you havent heard it you will fall in love with it right away and it wont be a bad buy. Right when I got home I searched it up and ordered my own copy of this amazing musical!!!
Free Music Review: This is a terrible thing to waste! Hit: 5 Stars
My father went to London and saw the show, and bought this CD, because he knew I would enjoy it, and I did! When I got money, I ran in a shop here in Trondheim (in Norway) and bougt it, too! I listen to it every day, I've become a Whistledownthewind-aholic! The best songs are Vaults of heaven, Whistle down the wind, Unsettled Scores, Cold, Tire tracks and broken hearts, Annie and Charle Christmas, A kiss is a terrible thing to waste (gives me goosebumbs), No matter what and Children rule the world. But it's one thing: Swallow's accent. All the other kids, the grown ups as well sounds normal, but Swallow is a bit melodramatic, though she have a wonderful voice!(Excuse my English)
Free Music Review: Almost As Good As Being There ! ! ! Hit: 5 Stars
I LOVE THIS CD!.....This is the FIRST time Andrew Lloyd Webber has included the complete libretto to one of his plays, which makes it a much richer experience! Rather than just hearing the musical highlights from the show...this IS the show! The wonderful diversity of music takes us from upbeat rock to gospel and everything in between. The title track is particulary beautiful!...So many of the songs are standouts...and the story of Sparrow and her siblings believing an escaped convict to be Jesus is charming, reminding us of the purity, innocence and total trust that lives in the hearts of children. I truly think you'll fall in love with this CD...I Have!
Free Music Review: Andrew Lloyd Webber has done it again Hit: 5 Stars
With his new play Whistle Down the Wind Andrew Lloyd Webber has once more povided his devoted fans and listeners with another complete score of beautiful, fantastic music. I first became aware of the songs from this score while attending Webber's 50th birthday celebration and was absolutely taken by the story and lyrics behind the already marvelous music. Though not having yet had the chance to see Whistle Down the Wind in London, i have already made it one of my favorite shows due to the music alone - and have already taken it upon myself to plan a trip to London this summer solely to be enchanted by a performance of this play thanks to Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Free Music Review: Outstanding! Hit: 5 Stars
By Far, one on Lloyd Webber's best works! It's Right up There with Cats, and Phantom. The haunting Melodies os songs such as 'A Kiss is a Terrible Thing to Waste' (my perosnal favorite) and the up beat rythym of others like'When Children Rule the World', combined with songs such as 'No matter what', and 'whistle down the wind' are what make the show a hit. Only Lloyd Webber could find a way to combine many different genres of music, and make them fit together with perfection! On This Recording in Particular, the cast is wonderful. There is a slight notice of the accent, but you get used to it and soon don't notice it. I highly reccomend buying this cd!
