Free Music Notes for SurrenderFree Music Review: A true diva! Hit: 5 Stars
This work is better than The Andrew Lloyd Webber collection. I'll keep this review short. Personally, I think "Surrender" is excellent. The tracks are recorded in different languages, giving Sarah's voice a whole new edge. The heavy-toned vocals are just what I like to hear. One track in mind is "Piano"(Italian version of) "Memory". Sarah uses her full range and voice. "Guardami",the sister track of "Piano", is also one of those aria type of pieces. Webber chose some interesting pieces for her to sing. There's nothing she can't do. Those who prefer quiet, relaxed songs will like the title track "surrender". The orchestra is light. The music fits well with ballet. "Unexpected song" is great. The best is saved for the last seconds of the track. "Surrender" is unlike Sarah's other material. Look for songs from "The phantom", the original cast of "cats" and "little-known" tracks. The disc sets me to believe that it is a second version of The cd "The A.L.W. collection. The photos inside are "behind the scenes" with Sarah& Webber. There are notes about when and why these tracks were recorded. It's nice to read about Sarah's musical background and her previous performance repertoires. Buy the cd. Did my review help you?
Free Music Review: Surrender to Sarah Brightman!!! :) Hit: 5 Stars
This CD is simply amazing! I prefer this album over "Dive" because Brightman sticks to what she knows best - which is opera! Surrender, Unexpected Song, Chanson D'efance, Tell Me on a Sunday, and Nothing Like You've Ever Known are simply brilliant and beautiful pieces music! Sadly, I do not prefer the 2 songs from Cats - about Macavaty and Gus. They really do not seem to fit to Brightman's style of music, for they are more outgoing! However, Memory from Cats (in Italian) is beautiful with soaring octaves! Everything's Alright is genius, with a 5/4 tempo, and it makes the song amazing. Pie Jesu is a beautiful piece, but I prefer Charlotte Church singing it. Brightman's vocals show to much vibrato, and it makes the song seem annoying! Amigos Para Siempre and the Spanish version of "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" are fairly decent pieces from Brightman. If you love the Brightman from "The Phantom of the Opera", then buy this album!!!
Free Music Review: EVERTHING'S ALRIGHT ON THIS CD!! Hit: 5 Stars
Sarah Brightman has done is again. This cd is amazing!! She is in spectacular voice and has chosen some of Andrew Lloyd Webber's most haunting melodies to reinvent and make her own. Probably the most emotional track is "Piano" (the italian-opera version of memory). What i like most about this cd is the fact that an explanation of why each song is on this cd is given (like we needed one, but it is nice). The best songs are: Chanson d'Enfance, Piano, No Llores Por mi Argentina, and Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again. WARNING: Do NOT buy the cd "Sarah Brightman: the Andrew Lloyd Webber Collection"--it is not the same cd, while it may be cheaper and easier to find than this cd, it is VERY BAD!! Pay the extra money for a quality recording like this one. Buy and enjoy!!
Free Music Review: This album could hardly be better!! Hit: 5 Stars
This is one of the best Sarah Brightman CDS on the market. Instead of focusing on the really well-known ALW songs, Sarah sings some of the less-famous (but still very beautiful) tunes by the immensely talented songwriter. The best tracks are the title song, "Nothing Like You've Ever Known", "Unexpected Song", "Tell Me On A Sunday"...the list goes on and on. The only songs I could do without are the ones from "Cats", which is not my favorite musical. But every song is sung perfectly by Sarah, who has the voice of an angel. I would definitely give this CD the highest rating!!
Free Music Review: You will surrender at her feet Hit: 5 Stars
On this recording Sarah sounds better than ever. Her whole voice and style is present thru all the CD. Her "Guardami" is like a prayer and "Wishing you were..." from Phantom is better than in the original Phantom recorded by Sarah in the 80's. Her diction in the Spanish version of "Don't cry for me Argentina" is perfect and that performance of "Piano" (Italian version of "Memory" from Cats) is like a waterfall. Wow, what a gorgeous voice. Sarah: Thank you so much for giving us all the beauty of your talent. I love you so much.
