Free Music Review: I SHALL REVEAL THREE TRUTHS TO YOU...
Hit: 5 Stars

This is the first: in this world it will always be the blond leading the blind. TWIN PEAKS is a case study of great creativity getting gummed up by meddling TV executives and accountants taking more important decisions than directors. After a phenomenal first season, (against David Lynch's wishes) Laura Palmer's murder got solved in mid second season, effectively killing the impetus of the show. What was left, was a show that was too slow in finding a new direction, decelerating into vapid style and enjoying a huge cult following that is still going strong. I should know; I am a huge fan since the first time I laid eyes on Snoqualmie Falls.

This the second: your favorite childhood gum can never taste the same again. This OST reflects the shows decline in Season 2. It contains only a handful of original tunes; most tracks are reprises of Angelo Badalamenti's dreamy music. To TWIN PEAKS fans, this is a treasure chest full of timeless gems, bringing back memories of Mandy's misfortune and James' adventures. No unique tunes, though, and nothing to rival the original and timeless Love Theme.

And now for the third Truth: seek for the secret before the beginning.

RECOMMENDED!

Free Music Review: Good things come to those who wait
Hit: 5 Stars

It's been six years since I heard this incredible soundtrack mangled on the VHS release of the series, and even then I could detect its alternately innocent and dark gorgeousness shining through the horrendously warbly audio track. A decade and a half after Twin Peaks ended, six long years since I finished watching the show, and here we are. This is music that I have quite simply been yearning for for years. There is something about Twin Peaks that has created a condensed kind of nostalgia for series itself, the time in my life during which I watched it, and the people I watched it with, as well as something more, an unplaceable, deep and vivid longing for something that does not quite exist. Twin Peaks: Season Two Music has landed softly into my current life, not unlike a telegram from my six-years-ago self, and even with such magnificent tracks like Shelly, Audrey's Prayer, Harold's Theme, Josie and Truman, Hook Rug Dance, and Half Heart, I'm left with the sense of an intangible absence, one I suspect will never be filled after living ever so briefly in the staggeringly multidimensional world of Twin Peaks.

Free Music Review: Twin Peaks - Revisited at last
Hit: 5 Stars

At long last, TP fans can finally listen to crystal clear and geniune recordings of the second series music that has been sitting on file for far too long. A bit like series two itself, which has only recently been released itself.

Anyone who watched in awe as the Horne brothers reminisced about Louise Dumbroiski dancing on her hook hug will simply beam as the music is included on here.

On first listen of this CD, you will be able to place particular scenes (or at least characters) associated with the various Badalamenti themes that were woven throughout the whole of the Twin Peaks experience.

A joy to listen to, guaranteed to make you smile if you watched Twin Peaks back in the day. My driving style has already improved by having this playing in the car!

Free Music Review: "I'm hurt 5 Stars

This might be overstating the obvious, but this is a must have companion to the first Twin Peaks t.v. soundtrack album. This has a ton of great stuff like "Just You"(sung by James Marshall from the show, with back ups by Sheryl Lee and Lara Flynn Boyle), "Hook Rug Dance" ,and "Blue Frank". The material ranges from 50's type stuff, to eerie jazz and lounge, to eerier ambient, as is to be expected from Lynch/Badalamenti. Obviously those already fans who have some context for the music will enjoy this more, but really, this is good enough for anyone to enjoy. But speaking as one previously initiated, I can't get enough of this stuff. I wish there was another album somewhere with more of these gems from the show. Sad, beautiful, creepy and perfect for late night listening.

Free Music Review: Always music in the air...
Hit: 5 Stars

What a beautiful thing it is to finally see the release of this disc.

I agree with the above review that it's a bummer to disinclude that particular version of the theme. (When Ben watches the old family film...)

Other than that, this is a fan's dream come true.

Night Bells is a track I have always dreamed about having.

New Shoes is all standout for me.

Maybe best of all is Just You which is the song James sang with Donna and Maddy in the living room of the Hayward house.

The Hayward Boogie featuring Alicia Witt on piano is another treat.

THANK YOU to whoever is responsible.

What a treat.
