Free Music Review: A long time coming and worth the wait!!!
Hit: 4 Stars

When I first heard they were finally coming out with a CD of music from the second season of Twin Peaks, my jaw dropped to the floor and my heart skipped a beat. Could it be possible, after all these years, to get this music on a CD? The answer is an emphatic, YES!!

The selection of tracks covers a lot of fan favorites and some of my personal favorites of any of the music the great Angelo Badalamenti composed for the series. In addition to the season 2 music, there are some previously unreleased material from the film prequel Fire Walk With Me including the Lynch composed "Blue Frank" and Angelo's "Half Heart" and "Laura's Dark Boogie" all of which are great to have on CD, "Half Heart" being one of the best tracks on the CD as a whole.

I agree with a previous review that the acoustic version of the main title used in the Ben Horne scene waxing nostalgic is not only one of my favorite tracks but I also agree it would have been a nice addition.

Standout tracks:

"Shelly" - loved this music and the scene in which it was first used, a beautiful piece of music.

"Audrey's Prayer" - the track used the most in season two and a definite must for this CD, truly beautiful again.

"Harold's Theme" - short but those haunting guitars (wow!) and the keyboard playing the melody certainly evokes memories of Harold Smith and a great addition to the CD, albeit it's a little short.

"Night Bells" - great guitar work. I don't know why this one sticks out, but I love that this music was included.

"Drug Deal Blues" - one of the grooviest songs ever to be heard on Twin Peaks, this is a solid gold jam.

"Josie and Truman" - another staple of the second season used in so many good ways. This might be my favorite track on the CD. One of Angelo's best jazz arrangements that's for sure.

"Hook Rug Dance" - enough said. This is a must inclusion and a great track.

I thought the the "Dark Mood Woods/Red Room" extended track was a very interesting compostion and should have been included because of the atmosphere it offered the final episode.

Free Music Review: Incomplete
Hit: 4 Stars

When Twin Peaks first aired back in 1990, I would NEVER have watched it had it not been for the MUSIC. I never was very much into network television and Twin Peaks seemed like just another network's lame attempt to rake in a few bucks with a new "murder/mystery miniseries". I promptly dismissed the show.

A couple of months later, I heard the main title theme on a local jazz radio station. I was mesmerized! I decided to give the show a try and I was absolutely hooked. The story, actors, cinematography, music and locale all combined to create a truly unique and ground-breaking television show.

I purchased the first soundtrack in 1990 and wore it out. The themes were truly memorable and Angelo Badalamenti's genious shines through in every song. Of course, it was an incomplete documentation of the music of Twin Peaks, but it was a good start. Never had I dreamed I would have to wait 18 years for volume 2 (amazing how the show has maintained a loyal following for so long - PROOF of what an incredible show it really was).

Volume 2, although brilliant, is sadly incomplete. There is SO much more music from the world of Twin Peaks that was tragically overlooked; numerous variations of the main title theme (especially the acoustic guitar version that segues into a Rhodes piano - played when Ben Horne is watching black-and-white movies of the ground breaking ceremony of the Great Northern), Hank Jennings' theme, John Wheeler's theme, a '50s-style guitar jam (first played when James leaves Twin Peaks and is riding his Harley down the highway) and many, many others. I just hope I don't have to wait another 18 years for volume 3.

Recommended for any music lover, although this will probably appeal mostly to lovers of the show.

Free Music Review: Great, but missing one of my favorite songs
Hit: 4 Stars

This cd of Twin Peaks "Season Two Music And More" is GREAT! My only regret is that it does not include the acoustic guitar version of the main Twin Peaks theme, which was heard during the scene where Ben Horne is watching the old film of when he and his brother were kids at the dedication ceremony for the Great Northern. That is one of my favorite scenes from season two, and I was very disappointed that the music from that scene was left off of this cd.

Free Music Review: Attention All Twin Peaks Fans!!

For anyone out there who was or is a Twin Peaks fan, the second season soundtrack is for you. It is one of thoes CDs that you can put in, hit repeat and listen to all day long. Amazon.com has it for a reasonable price. That's what we need, good music, reasonabilly priced.

Free Music Review: Great CD
Hit: 3 Stars

Like the first soundtrack for Twin Peaks, this CD is an absolute must for all TP fans. The only problem, and it has nothing to do with the music, is like all CDs you order from Amazon or through the mail, the plastic holder in the CD case holding the CD was broken so the CD was moving around the whole time. Luckily, I haven't noticed any skips or bad scatches. The three-star rating goes for the quality of the product when I received it, not the actual quality of the CD music. That would be a 4 or 5 star
