Free Music Notes for I-EmpireFree Music Review: Better than the 1st! Hit: 5 Stars
Once again, Tom and AVA do it again, another epic quality album. Simply amazing...
Many people are upset that Blink 182 are no longer together. When I hear the music that Angels & Airwaves have put out since the end of Blink, it's like the legend of the Phoenix. Out of the ashes, a greater band has risen. I am glad we have Angels and Airwaves, even if Blink is no longer a band.
I Empire builds on the messages of We Don't Need to Whisper. Where the later was darker and the band was starting to find their sound. I Empire is more upbeat and joyful. I Empire is better, in my opinion, than We Don't Need to Whisper.
"Call to Arms" (My Only Fear) - 5 Stars - A wonderful way to open the album and set the tone.
"Heaven" - 5 Stars - I just love this song. And a most excellent way to end the album.
"Sirens" and "Jumping Rooftops" are the only 4 Star songs on this album. They just don't do it for me when I take the whole album in. Which is the only way to take the album: all at once.
Free Music Review: A worthy follow-up to We Don't Need To Whisper Hit: 5 Stars
Already, I-Empire is one of the best albums of the year (if not THE best). Of all the CD's I've listened to this year, this one, by far, is very optimistic and uplifting, to say the least. The anthemic, 80's synth-pop, stadium-rock sound works very well here. And if it does sound formulaic, so be it! Very heartfelt and inspirational too! Tom DeLonge has definitely come a long way from his Blink-182 days, and I'm all the more glad for it! Instead of the usual bratty, toilet humor, we get mature, "reach for the sky" sentiments, that is, keep going, no matter what happens to you in life. Honestly, I think that's what we need more nowadays. By the way, forget about that Rolling Stone critic who gave this fine CD only 2 1/2 stars. According to the review, "Blink-182 guitarist is all grown up and synth-poppy. But is that a good thing?" I certainly think so!

Free Music Review: Wow, absolutely amazing Hit: 5 Stars
I was so scared to buy this album. I'm not a person who goes by ratings and reviews of an album since there will be people that say an album sucks and some say its awesome...music IS purely subjective. So I went ahead and bought this album, opened it up, popped it into my computer.. and I was blown away! Their debut album "We Don't Need to Whisper" was kind of a disappointment to me because since Tom DeLonge was in it I was really hoping for that Blink-182 sound, since Blink-182 were one of my favorite bands. I-Empire has a LOT more Blink-182 sound! The album started off with a bang and ended off with a bigger bang! Currently, "Everything's Magic" is my favorite track (which also happens to be their single), along with "Sirens", "Calls to Arms", "Secret Crowds", and "Heaven". I think the song "Sirens" sounds more Blink-182 than any song by them so far, with their "La-da-da,da da da, da da da-da da da-da ta a". Good stuff, I very much recommend this album! It's worth every penny.
Free Music Review: One for the ages Hit: 5 Stars
I could not disagree more than with the previous review that said that We Don't Need to Whisper has better songs and better sounds. After listening to We Don't Need to Whisper, I found about 5 songs that were actually really good and the rest were just decent (not counting It Hurts which is an absolute joke). I-Empire, however, has 12 great tracks without any of the boring garbage tracks that were thrown in the first cd. I have not been able to stop listening to this cd. As much of a Tom Delonge fan as I am, i was getting highly annoyed with his ego and attempt to create epic world changing music. After listening to this album, however, I am convinced that he has truly grown as a song writer and a musician. This cd is unbelievable you won't be disappointed.
All great tracks but my favorites are:
1. Heaven
2. Call to Arms
3. Star of Bethlehem/True Love- possibly one of the best songs I have ever heard period, no joke.
Free Music Review: AVA can do no wrong!!!! Hit: 5 Stars
I listen to all types of music, but once in a great while a band comes along that touches you, and rocks you. Angels and Airwaves can do no wrong in my eyes. Their music is inspiring, emotional, moving and great to rock out to. I have not stopped listening to "We Dont Need to Whisper" since I bought it, and "I-Empire" will be no different.
My most moving tracks:
Call to Arms
Everything's Magic
Lifeline
Breathe
Heaven
But just like their first album, every track is good, some are better than others, but every track is good, which is a rarity these days. Plus, why so many critics pan AVA because they have simple and inspiring, uplifting lyrics...is beyond me. It's a throwback to the old school days of U2, The Cure, Pink Floyd, New Wave and early punk rock pop....all mixed in with some great electronic synth sounds.
Point blank: Angels and Airwaves are AWESOME!
