Free Music Review: Pretty good CD
Hit: 5 Stars

Okay, here's a little background info on why i rated this album how i did:
1. i absolutely loved blink-182 and all of their albums
2. i actually enjoyed most of boxcar racer's music (Tom's other side project)
3. i am a musician myself

Like many are saying, this is definitely NOT another blink-182 album. a lot of the high-tempo young life songs are gone, replaced with more relaxing, introspective music. yes, the intros to some of the songs are lengthy. i am a fan of the new stuff, however. it's just different. part of this may be due to the fact that i record my own music and know that it is hard work (so i appreciate Tom's effort), but a lot of it goes to the actual music, too. plus, if you listen really closely, you can hear the blink-182 influence. overall, a good album. i recommend it.

Free Music Review: It's official...I'm a fan!
Hit: 5 Stars

I grew up during the Blink 182 craze, but I never was a fan of Blink. I've heard OF Angels and Airwaves, but I never HEARD the band until I went to the Weezer concert this year ('08). I was afraid that it would be too much like Blink 182, but I was wrong. I have never heard anything like this before in a long, long time. Angels and Airwaves is the greatest thing to happen to Rock in a long time and it is like a wind of fresh air. There are so many great songs on the record, but "the War" has to be my favorite. When I heard that song I live, I became an instant fan.

This is the best work Tom has ever done. I never hated Blink, but A&A just has a more mature sound. This doesn't sound like Blink, which may turn off some long turn Blink fans, but those that like change will love this album. It's simply amazing.

Free Music Review: one of 2006' best so far...
Hit: 5 Stars

I guess Pitchfork and some others are too "kewl" to review this. I guess RS didn't even bother giving it a few spins before they wrote the review.

I love this record. After about 5-10 listens, it has grown on me to such an extent i can't listen to anything else. It's made me kick the new Chili Peppers record aside, b/c i like this better... It is "consistently" great throughout(actually gets better as you get deeper into the record)... It is truly great for what it is. A record full of "big" "catchy" "uplifting" anthems that shimmer and sparkle thanks to Delonge and co.

U2 + The Cure + Blink = Angels and Airwaves.

So it's not Sufjan, or Belle and Sebastian, or Cat Power, or BTS, or MMJ... and on and on and on.... WHO CARES????.... it doesn't matter. What it is - is great...

Free Music Review: From a fan of anything Tom Delonge
Hit: 5 Stars

Let me start by saying I was a fan of all Blink 182 and his side project Boxcar Racer. The Blink 182 album I was most fond of was their self-titled CD. This CD is similar in style as that CD.

Tom Delonge explains this CD as "Every song makes you want to cry" and it's true, between the musicianship and the deep fascinating lyrics it makes you very emotional.

Coming together as Tom Delonge (Blink 182, Boxcar Racer) Atom Willard (The Offspring) Ryan Sinn (The Distillers) and David Kennedy (Boxcar Racer) all people from bands from the same genre, yet the songs don't sound like any of the bands except for the self-titled Blink 182 CD.

This CD has a lot of potential to make a huge impact on music and promise a lot more from the band in the future.

Hit: 5 Stars

Tom DeLonge has done it again. His writing and singing skills just keep getting better and stronger. The lyrics on this CD are weak oppossed to his Box Car Racer outing but the music steals the show here. U2 like guitars are strummed to the fullest potential and brought to goose bumps heights. "The Gift" is my favorite track on the disc in which I would have released that as the debut single but "The Adventure" drops just fine. All in all,I do find myself missing Mark Hoppus' dualing vocals and Travis Barkers demon speed drumming but that trio is a thing of the past now due to Tom blowing off those guys for this project. Politics do suck but hopefully someday the best punk band of this generation will reform. And for the time being.......AVA will fill the void.
