Free Music Notes for We Don't Need to WhisperFree Music Review: good start Hit: 5 Stars
so i picked this album up yesterday on the release date, being a hugeeeeee blink fan and all and i was impressed. a lot of musical has gone into this album and i think tom did a wonderful job with his producing and writing. being the first of the 3 guys to come out with an album, put a lot of pressure on tom. he doesnt want to lose fans, but he wants people to know he has started a new life. anyways this is a good album, shows the other side of tom (other than punk) and i reccomend picking it up. i feel like the songs have a lot of emotion and are sung truly from the heart.
good stuff. hopefully one day i can see them live :)
Buy "We Dont Need to Whisper"!!! you wont regret it!
Free Music Review: Tom's back... Hit: 5 Stars
I'm a blink-182 fan, and yes, had certain expectations going into this CD because of the hype that Tom Delonge surrounded it with. Did it hit those 'ground breaking, life changing' points that Tom promised?
No.
However, it's still one of my favorites of the year. The songs mesh perfectly, and they don't sound the same, as some have written. Tom's grown (although some of the lyrics are better suited for someone...younger) and this CD shows that.
My only objection is that I wish it had more songs, as after I play the 10 tracks, I end up playing them again because I can't get enough of these cats.
= J
Free Music Review: Sonic Hit: 5 Stars
I think they abandoned the no-effects approach of direct line into amps. This album features some cool programming and interesting delays that remind me more of David Gilmores work on his later Pink Floyd albums, which is likely equipment related. Tom's voice, however, is a much more contemporary twist on the approach. Inspiring and thoughtful. I can't say which song is best, these all carry equal weight and are all equally interesting for the listener, my neighbor gets the entire album, full blast. Luckily the single was picked out immediately from the radio and I went to get the CD, well worth it, I still love them all. A complete work.
Free Music Review: Engrossing & hypnotic...a blast to listen to Hit: 5 Stars
I'm finding it hard to describe what I like about this CD. And I mean that in a good way. This CD is amazing. The music is dramatic, the lyrics are heartfelt and moving, and the overall sound transports you to another world.
Tom Delonge has crafted a great album here. Very different from his Blink 182 days.
You feel the pulse of the music accelerating your heartbeat. It's like you grab on to a fast-moving object and you hang on to see where it takes you. It's really quite exhilarating.
Even this review doesn't do the CD justice. You just have to listen for yourself.
Great CD.
Free Music Review: Don't buy this as a Blink 182 fan, buy it as a MUSIC fan Hit: 5 Stars
If you're looking for a band that sounds like Blink 182, this is the wrong spin-off band. Plus 44 is great in their own way, but they hold more of the Blink 182 sound.
Tom's new band take influence from a more 80's sound with synthesizers and U2esque guitar. Tom, like Mark, has really fine tuned his lyrics and made them more emotional, personal, and insightful.
Don't get me wrong, you can still here parts of Blink in this cd, especially Tom's distinct voice. However, he has definitely taken a new direction in his music career, and based on AVA's debut it's a direction that will have a lot of success.
