Free Music Notes for Angus: Music From The Motion Picture

Free Music Review: Absolutely amazing
Hit: 5 Stars

I first saw the movie when i was extremely young, and could totally relate with the main character, Angus. It was, is, and will always be one of my most favorite movies ever. I first fell in love with the soundtrack because of the Green Day and Weezer songs, which at the time I couldn't find anywhere else. However, i soon absolutely fell for every other song on this album. The missing Mazzy Star song is abit of a drag, but oh well.. My only complaint is, while I do love the version of "Am I Wrong" on this album, it's not the same version as the one in the movie. The horn arrangement and general sombreness of the movie version is missing from the soundtrack version. It's still a great tune, but i would love to know if anyone has the movie version online somewhere, and if so, where i could find it. Overall, excellent movie, equally excellent album.Peace.

Free Music Review: THIS ROCKED!
Hit: 5 Stars

The movie was so much better than the current slew of "teen" movies, and this is the perfect complement to it. I found this at a flea market, and fell in love with it. While the "heavies" perform at their usually stellar level, it is the lesser-known (to me) bands that shine. Their songs seemed more emotive and while not rock anthems, kept in theme with the film and were beautiful in their own right. The last track, played interestingly at the beginning of the movie, is the best example of this. This soundtrack makes me want to look up all these bands and see what else they have to offer. Simply a great album. Go see the movie; buy this soundtrack! (not necessarily in that order)

Free Music Review: This gets Five Stars for Two Reasons and Only Two Reasons
Hit: 5 Stars

This gets five stars for two reasons. 1. J.A.R.(Jason Andrew Relva). This used to be the only place you could get this awesome track from Green Day. That was until they put it on International Superhits!. 2. You Gave Your Love to Me Softly. This may still be the only place you can get this track. As noted, 5 stars because it has 2 rare tracks from 2 of my favorite bands. Alright Love Spit Love's contribution is cool and so are Ash's. But those wouldn't even get it two stars on their own merits. So pick this up if you are a die-hard Weezer fan. If you're a GD fan, pick up ISH! its worth it because of J.A.R. but also the two new tracks.

Free Music Review: Great CD, Great Movie...
Hit: 5 Stars

I don't really know how else to describe it. This CD is truly awesome, and it goes perfect with the movie. It's got some great bands, some have become quite popular (Green Day, Goo Goo Dolls, etc.)
The only thing I was wondering though was, does anyone know the name of the song that's played in the scene after the grandfather dies? It's the scene where Angus walks up to the chess board and lays the king down, to show the old guy that the grandfather had passed away. I really like that song, but I have no idea what the name of it is, or who it's by for that matter...

Free Music Review: Angus
Hit: 5 Stars

I bought the Angus soundtrack and i loved it. I love the songs especially 'Am i wrong' by Love spit love and 'You gave your love to me softly' by Weezer. I also loved the movie with its hillarious parts and sad parts like when his grandfather died. I think that the movie should have been a 15 because of all of the swearing but anyone could buy the CD.
I wish that they could come out with a sequol to the movie and have alot of great rock/punk songs on the album.
