Free Music Review: Ani's getting EVEN better

This new album reveals that Ani is not only a creative, politicaly active woman, but she is above all a musician who isn't afraid to blend multiple musical influences into one great album. Her maturity as an artist shines through each of the two CD's included in this release. It's true that it is different from her "Not a Pretty Girl" stylings, but in my opinion, this method is a move upward and onward. (Don't worry, there's still enough angst inside to make everyone happy!) Her lyrics are crafted beautifully, not to mention the outstanding job Righteous Babe Records and Ani did on the CD artwork. ani continues to amaze me as she virtually tells the tales of my life ( i know many feel the same). she poetically sums up our world with such beauty and empathy, she brings me to tears and leaves me saying, "yes, exactlly." ani speaks to the many aspects of our society overlooked by mtv and abc, and gives a voice to those who feel unheard or unable to explain. her music is lifeblood for the starving artists, solace for the silent magic workers of our generation. it takes a few nights of really listening,and a few drives around the city with the cd spinning, and suddenly you start to hear the tales completely. ani fans, new and dedicated need to add this one to your collection.Free Music Review: krista marlena

i just purchased the new ani cd on saturday before i went to the concert last night because i wanted to hear the new music. i would highly recommend this cd if you are a true ani fan. she played a lot of the new stuff at the concert and it is an awesome new groove of music. i've especially been into the "reckoning" disc because i love her more acoustical stuff and this is beautiful music on this disc. all the songs are pure amazingness by ani and there are a few short instrumental/interlude tracks. this is a great 2 disc set definitely worth every penny, plus it comes in a cool setup/box thingy...buy it!!! you'll love it!!!Free Music Review: Ooooooh MAN!

Ani continues to demonstrate the wide range of her talents. This set is phenomenal--and its strongest attribute is that it includes the traditional Ani of woman-with-a-guitar-and-penetrating-lyrics, as well as the ever-branching-into-new-areas Ani. Marrow positively soars, and shows off Ani's incredible voice. In other tunes, such as Your Next Bold Move, she gets in her digs at the political realities she's always bemoaned. Revelling absolutely drips with sensuous thunder, while Reckoning ponders with acoustic grace. Many thumbs up to Ani, and may she continue to keep up the good work.
