This is my first Ani Difranco record however it is not my first exposure to her. I accompanied my friend to one of her concerts earlier this year and was impressed by her energy and musicianship.This project benefits from fun production in the form of really cool brass and woodwind arrangements. The mood on Revelling is really light and airy and it is my favorite of the two discs.

Ani continues to amaze me with her newest release. The first disc is funky, and upbeat, making you tap your foot along with the beat. Her second disc is mellow, but her lyrics on each are true to her roots. Her songs still touch on the societal injustices that are still present in our world. ...Then I heard Revelling/Reckoning. Her lyrical savvy is in full-swing, but more obviously in the Reckoning disk. Revelling is a more care-free disk, with some pretty simplistic lyrics, and happier tunes, while Reckoning is a more thoughtful and powerful side with deeper beats. Better than Not A Pretty Girl in my opinion. This is a great disk.Free Music Review: Different but wonderful

This album is much different than the others, but it is deffinitly my favorite. It has a more mellow, jazzy quality. True, here she does not rock or scream, but the power of the lyrics is there even more intensly. The poetry and truth stands out with some emotions we have not been shown before.Free Music Review: definately ani

This seems to be something that ani has been striving for, but then again, her albums are always ever changing and different. Don't let the difference in this album stray you from it, she still has her say in what she feels, you just have to find it. Wonderful as usual.
