Free Music Review: Ani is incredible

First of all, I love everything about Ani, her music, and her development. She is easily my favorite musician, because it's her music that gets me through the day as it plays itself over and over in my head. I was excited about this CD because I've been to her past two concerts in Chicago, and this CD was my ticket to reliving those two nights I've wanted to return to for so long. I love the CD first because both discs have a separate character, like revelling/reckoning. And also SO importantly, I love to hear her music as it is evolving and becoming just so much more complex and lively. I love it because I can listen to songs like Letter to a John, Cradle and All, Loom->Pulse, songs I've been listening to for years, and it's like hearing them for the first time. I also love the lyrics to her new song Shrug, but I love Welcome To: more. Anyways, just wanted to say how good I thought the album was.Free Music Review: Thank You Ms. Difranco.

"So Much Shouting, So Much Laughter" is another testament to the fact that Ani Difranco solely acts upon her own will. Yes, it was only a few years ago that she released a live double-disk album. Yes, these folk songs have been arranged completely differently from their original relases with a new jazz backing. Yes, the album has a few rough edges. But this is reality. This album captures the authenticity of Ani. I have a feeling that some fans from the begining might not like this cd because it is so different from her first album, but like I alluded to before: I doubt Ani cares. I love this cd because it is all about the music. She encompasses so many sounds, with highlights including "Rock Paper Scissors," "Self Evident," and a new version of "32 Flavors." I missed the chance to see Ani tour with her band, so this album pretty much makes up for it. Buy it.Free Music Review: I love this album

I bought dialte and really liked it. I took a chance and bought this.
Wow! I normally listen metal and rock. This has become one of my favorite albums of all time. I read some of these reviews and saying stuff like sloppy recording and other negative comments. Give me a break it's pure
artistry. Ani un edited. The lady has an opinion and has something to say.
The lyrics are great the musicianship of her and her band are as good as any. Every time I listen to it I hear something new. I'm guy and am touched to near tears on several songs and am not afraid to admit it. Gratatute and welcome to in perticular.
This girl can get an emotion accross in a song like few can. So many styles combined. I needed some thing differnet and was bored with the same 50 classic rock songs and stations playing the same 20 new songs for 4 months. Just what I needed. Refreshing.

I had the pleasure of seeing Ani Difranco in concert last year from the front row, and it was an experience I haven't yet forgotten, and I love this CD for bringing me back, so I can relive those experiences.This CD is filled with wonderful songs, but the one that most strikingly affects me is "Self Evident"... it is such a powerful song.
While I love Living In Clip, her first live album, I believe that So Much Shouting, So Much Laughter delivers what it is truly like to see The Little Folksinger in her element. I believe the addition of the full band, and also the mutual respect and friendship between Ani and Julie Wolf come through on this disc, and I would recommend it to anyone.

This album is amazing! I am a huge Ani fan and this double disc is one of my favorite Ani releases. It is a collection of a lot of her great songs[32 Flavors, Dilate, and my favorite, Jukebox] but with a funky spin. Every note is harder and has more emotion then the versions you will find on her CDs. She performs with her 6 piece band which is made up of some horns, keyboards, and a booming bass. A lot of the songs sound completely new because of the passion in the performance. It also has 3 previously unreleased songs on it. I strongly recomend this CD to anyone, from obsessive fans to first timers!
