Free Music Notes for So Much Shouting, So Much LaughterFree Music Review: Beauty in the Awareness Hit: 5 Stars
True fans of Ani Difranco understand that you can't separate the art from the politics. They are one and the same. A progressive voice which is free of corporate manipulation and speaks truth to power, Ani should be celebrated for her political awareness rather than criticized for it. Anyone who would state that Ani's political "rants" are "possibly ugly" should turn off the corporate tube and do some research into the nature of American society and its power structure. Suggested authors would include Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn and Michael Parenti.
Free Music Review: Absolutely Awesome Hit: 5 Stars
Ani's albums are always excellent but her live recordings are even better. Self-Evident gives me chills every time I listen to it. Tamburitza, Dilate, IQ, Aint' That The Way...all of her songs are fueled with energy and emotion and the horns are out of this world. You can practically feel her strumming fingernails breaking off with some of her intense guitar work. The arrangements are endlessly inventive and so different than what you'll get on her studio albums. They give you a brand new perspective on all her songs and lyrics. Buy this today. You WILL NOT regret it.
Free Music Review: So Much, So Much Hit: 5 Stars
How much more can Ani put on a disc for her following? She gives the whole range, the whole gamut. And with and in the energizing of a live audience that's been dying to be at Ani DiFranco LIVE!
The song selection is deep and wide and a pallet-tapestry-mural of great vocals, instrumentations, and rhythms.
So, Thank You once again O Special & Unique & Precious One!
Keep working for us. We will be there where you are.

Free Music Review: the end of yet another era Hit: 5 Stars
ani difranco seems to be using live albums as a sort of marker in her music. it was during Living in Clip that ani started to expand her band and her sound, and now we are in the same situation with So Much Shouting So Much Laughter, as ani difranco is going to be going solo for the time being ... and this album does a wonderful job at summing up the past couple of years. if you have enjoyed ani's newsound whatsoever i highly encourage the purchase of this record. it is amazing.
Free Music Review: oh, buy the album already Hit: 5 Stars
The album is live, so of course there's chearing (though not too much) and banter (again not that much considering...) but there's also so much exciting jamming going on. Ani completely revamps a favorite or two, gives us a peek at two she puts on Evolve, and of course, offers us the spoken word gem "Self Evident" (worth buying the disc for alone if you are at all like minded politically. It's a breath of fresh air).
