I think this CD is great especially if you are doing a production of Annie. It has all the original songs plus more, the keys and arrangements are correct for live theater. The performances are great, I would have liked "Maybe" to be a little softer but that is minor. Why anyone who doesn't like to hear children sing would buy and rate this CD is beyond me! My daughter was cast as "Annie" in a local production in California and this CD has been very helpful.Free Music Review: Had to respond to the review by the 16 year old....

Who stated that Aileen Quinn is a better Annie than Andrea McArdle.
I have not listened to the CD (have the original album), but had to share that those that the 16 year old claims "suck" are amazing. I saw the original Broadway production, and have loved the music and stars since. Those who followed the first few Annies on Broadway (and those casts), don't come close to the talent displayed back then.

This CD is the best version of "Annie" I've heard up to now.....but I haven't yet heard the new Disney film soundtrack because I live in England and it isn't out here yet. Anyway, this CD is great! I listen to it over and over again and sing the songs all the time! This CD is great for listening to on a long car journy too! I particularly like "Tomorrow" and "NYC".Free Music Review: Does this one need a review?

It is so good and popular that it seems somehow pretentious and vain to attempt any review. The songs are marvelous, the story is catchy to all ages, the orchestrations are great. Even Broadway amateurs should get this, being as popular as FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, THE SOUND OF MUSIC, WEST SIDE STORY or MAN OF LA MANCHA. I think Annie is such a great Broadway play. Annie is a tough little girl, who is willing to do anything to get out of an orphanage. She has a lot of spunk and spirit, and she clearly shows this is her songs and the play. The songs are sung beautifully in this recording. Remember, music is like breathing for the soul!
