I was fortunate enough to catch this show at the Marquis Theater on Broadway on May 17, and immediately bought the disc. Bernadette Peters was simply captivating as Annie Oakley, and while the CD cannot capture her physical presence onstage, it showcases her amazing voice. But the big surprise for me is Tom Wopat. Before entering the theater, I had my doubts, but doggone it if he doesn't pull it off! This guy can sing! Diann, my wife, and I were completely enthralled by the live performance and had to get this disc. By all means, see the Broadway show if you have a chance. You'll leave the theater singing, then pop this CD into the car's changer and relive the magic once again.Free Music Review: "They Say Its Wonderful"

"There's No Business like show Business", especially when the two stars are Bernadette Peters and Tom Wopat. This new version of Irving Berlin's Annie Get Your Gun is Wonderful. Bernadette shines, and proves to be the first lady of American Theater/Music. I love how Frank(Tom Wopat) start the anthem with his beautiful baritone voice, and Annie's(Bernadette) funny singing in "Caint Get a man with a gun". Anyone who loves Bernadette should definetley run out and buy this CD, or better yet see the show on broadway, I have seen 4 times already and am dying to return to one of the best musicals I have ever seen!Free Music Review: wopat and peters should be together....

The chemistry between the two lead characters is enthralling and magnetic...it is not only a show you could watch ten times with these two as the lead, but it is also a show reborn, with a power-house performance by the ex-duke who shines like the brightest star. Peters is amazing, and although it's a shame that she leaves the show...all should partake in this cd and save a portion of that which was the greatest musical I've ever had the opportunity to hear. Let the world know that Annie Get Your Gun is the most FUN, CREATIVE, AND INCREDIBLE broadway show in existence...I've never seen anything rival it.Free Music Review: Peters is stunning

I saw this production in New York. I had never heard Burnadette Peters sing. She literally walked away with the show and was unbelievable. She brought a sweetness and lightness to the role that comes through in her interpretations of some of Berlin's best songs. The rest of the cast was great. If you haven't heard these Berlin songs, you're in for a real treat. It's a show so dependent on these classic songs that you'll get 90% of the stage enjoyment from the wonderful interpretation of some of Irving Berlin's finest music.Free Music Review: best revival of annie get your gun since Merman's original

Thanks for sending me this CD. I hope to catch Annie Get Your Gun in New York this summer. Bernadette Peters delivers the best Annie Oakley since Merman, and that beats Mary Martin, Doris Day, Kim Criswell and several others who have attempted this role. It was refreshing to hear a cast album that eliminated the racial slurs contained in the original i.e. I'm an Indian Too and Colonel Buffalo Bill. Bravo to the producers who were able to rewrite the book for the millenium.
