I was lucky to have a front row seat for a performance of AGYG and was completely taken by Tom Wopat's performance. He is every inch a rugged, handsome leading man-and what a voice! I've purchased the CD and especially enjoy his performances of "The Girl That I Marry" and "They Say It's Wonderful." I was able to see this show with Bernadette Peters on Broadway and it was just as fabulous as the cd recording! With Peters' talented voice and incredible energy, you simply can't go wrong. I own a lot of musicals on cd as well as video, and this cd is among my top 5 favorites. The minute it comes out on video, I will buy it! (if it ever does...)Free Music Review: Divine

Thank goodness there are still people out there who love the music of Irving Berlin, and thank goodness that Bernadette's and Tom's superb singing performances have been capture "for the ages." I was lucky enough to see "Annie Get Your Gun" this summer (July 1999) and again in September 2000 just before Peters and Wopat left the show. This is one of the BEST productions I've ever seen, on or off of Broadway, and this cast recording reflects that. Definitely worth buying!!! we knew bernadette peters would be thrilling as annie. she delivers as only bernadette can. who knew that tom wopat would be the big surprise knocking our socks off as frank butler? The stars' performances shine through! virtually every song a classic -- yes even if you have any other versions-- this is very special indeed.
