Free Music Review: How Annie Got her Groove Back
Hit: 5 Stars

An an avid (and even sometimes rabid) fan of Annie Lennox for nearly two decades now, I can state, with no amount of pretext, that this is Annie's finest work. The songs are tight, upbeat (for the most part) and lyrically sound. She hearkens back to "Diva" on several tracks, recalling images of "Cold" with "Smithereens" and "Little Bird" with "Love is Blind". I had lost a little faith after "Bare", which I found to be almost too dirge-like in it's style, but I have to say, SOMD rocked my world from beginning to end. I can even forgive Madonna's appearance on the record ;-) Get it, love it, live it.

Free Music Review: MASSive supernovas of gorgeous songs
Hit: 5 Stars

I am so happy that Annie is back! This album is like a wonderful traveling carousel of emotions. All songs were beautifully written with honesty and paired together with beautifully meaningful lyrics.

I definitely like the way Annie did the vocal arrangements on each track. Her voice is still soulful and what makes this cd brilliant is, this time, it feels like as if her voice itself was dancing on groovy tracks and weeping when the ballads arrive.

This cd is definitely best heard with "Diva" , her first album. Why? Just because.

Free Music Review: Annies's back
Hit: 5 Stars

What a great gift from the fabulous Annie Lennox. Yes, I wish she was more prolific, but every album is like a wonderful gift to her fans. Dark Road hypnotized me when I first heard it and I could not wait for the rest of the CD. I was not disappointed! This is a wonderful set of new tunes covering a myriad of genres. Fron the accordian (really cool) on Ghost in My Machine to the electronica on Coloured Bedspread this is a great album. I cannot recommend this enough. Please Annie, don't wait so long before your next album! See you at Symphony Hall!

Free Music Review: Wonderful and Reflective

Songs of Mass Destruction
This album is great! I have recently discovered Annie Lennox and her past pursuits (the awesome Eurythmics), and am loving her newest album. Annie's voice is something I could listen to for hours and never get tired of. Her lyrics are deep and her songs are catchy without losing that soul which makes her music unique. Her emotion shows in these songs, and for the better. Go buy it, please! Can't wait for the next album.

Free Music Review: As close to perfect as destruction can be
Hit: 5 Stars

Nothing but praise here. A true artist with no signs of slowing down. Annie seems to have the knack for picking the perfect mixture of upbeat and more somber tones so don't worry about this album being too serious. It has a lot of melodic rythmic sounds going on reminiscent of her past stuff, with the added bonus in my opinion of taking on serious feelings and issues when it needs to. I only wish a work of art could really help to change the world for the better. I think Annie would definitely agree and maybe this is her best effort to do so.
