Considering all the controversy surrounding the band these days, the main reason the reunion happened was because of this album. Anthrax was hitting on all cylinders when they recorded this - this album is flawless.
They never topped this album, and really never came close with Bush, through no fault of his own. I don't think he really fit in with Anthrax and like has happened with other bands, Anthrax ended up changing stylistically to the point where they lost nearly all of their fans. It also didn't help that they had 4 different lead guitarists on successive albums, one of which was in fact the roadie. It's no wonder they got the classic lineup back - they had no choice.
If the new album is even half as good as Among the Living, it'll be considered a smash.

anthrax is one of those bands in the top of the "Greatest Thrash Metal bands" along with metallica megadeth slayer exodus and testament. this is the best anthrax album ever along with persistance of time. this is fun stuff right here get itFree Music Review: im the walkin dude..

as another reviewer said, anthrax IS contagious. this album spawned the classic "caught in a mosh" which was an enormous hit in its day. my favorite song on this ablum has to be either among the living or i am the law, which are two other phenomenal tracks on this kick ass album. other good songs are efilnikufecin (N.F.L.) indians, and one world. the only song i didnt rate 5 stars on this album was skeletons.Free Music Review: Thrash perfected

Really good stuff. Steller Anthrax album.
Caught in a Mosh has an infectious chorus forcing you to sing along as the song progresses. And Skeleton in the Closet is one of Anthrax's fastest songs ever recorded and one of the album's strong points I should add. Furthermore, Charlie Betante is one heck of a drummer, Bellodonna sings like a madman and Bello, Spitz, Bello rule too.
So go grab yourself a teenage ninja turtles comic book and play this fun album along while your at it.

Man! I really thought that anthrax would do better and better on every album , but AMONG THE LIVING would have to be the biggest classic from start to finish , even better songwriting , lyrics , solos and tracks(such as CAUGHT IN A MOSH , IAM THE LAW , SKELETON IN THE CLOSET and IMITATION OF LIFE) are tougher , meaner , stronger and heavier tha their previous album SPREADING THE DISEASE . A true classic Thrash metal album.
