I'll never forget the first time I saw and heard RIVERDANCE. It is simply the most beautiful, soul-hauntingingly, lovely, magickal music I have ever heard! It was the first time I had ever heard Celtic music. The music wraps itself around your soul and weaves a spell. Riverdance is Magick to me. I have written countless poems about Riverdance. I have had a HUGE Spiritual Awakening due to Riverdance! I am now a Pagan! My favorite piece of music in Riverdance is "The Lament." There's something so, here's that word again, haunting, about it. I usually close my eyes and the music takes me on a Soul Voyage! Everytime I hear the music it's just as wonderful as the first time I heard those lovely, perfect notes. And the singing! The singers sound like a choir of angels! Riverdance is a work of musical genius! It is one of the most life-affirming experiences I have ever had. Evertime I experience Riverdance a great cry of "Yes, yes, yes... resounds from my soul. Riverdance is an inspiration to me on every level of my life! Can I give it a GAZILLION stars?Riverdance is simply THE MOST BEAUTIFUL music I have ever heard! The songs I like the best are Reel Around The Sun, Silver Figures, The Countless Cathleen/Women Of The Sidhe, The Lament, Firedance, Lift The Wing ,and, of course, RIVERDANCE!
The music and the dancing are so interwoven that I cannot imagine one without the other. And their interweaving is sublimely right!
This truly Magickal experience called Riverdance was inspired by the Great Goddess Herself! FOR...SHE IS LIVING TO NOURISH US, CHERISH US...I have written countless poems to and about RIVERDANCE, I have painted the walls of my Temple indigo and silver because those are the colors of the music of Riverdance. I frequently use the music from Riverdance in my rituals and I have birthed into being a beautiful ritual called Timedance, Moondance, Womondance which includes as an integral part of the ritual a viewing of Riverdance-The Show!

I am sixteen years old and have always loved the incredible effect of Riverdance. Only lately was I able to purchase this CD and be able to feel the music beat against the walls of my bedroom. The amazing beat and spirit portrayed through this Celtic classic are sure to please most everyone.
I must say that despite my grandmother's love of music, she did not share my enthusiasm. Too much drum effect, she said and felt that the show is only truly wonderful through watching the dance. Which I can agree with, but only to a point.
I absolutely LOVED this CD and I hope you will too!
TYPE of music: Celtic/Show Soundtrack/Dance/Energizing
When To Listen: Any time, though my favorite is rainy day/thunderstorm. ;) Play when friends or family are over as background music. Excellent to keep you cleaning.

I have every Riverdance DVD and have watched the live show once. This CD is based on the original production (With Michael Flatley and Jean Butler) and while it might not carry the "excitement" of the original show as others have commented, it is a great way to remember the beautiful music and orchestration when you are not close to a DVD player to enjoy the video production. The unfortunate thing in listening to the "soundtrack" of a live/video production is that separated from its visual context, it can be difficult to understand or appreciate. Riverdance is a visual as well as a sound experience. If you have never watched the show, it would certainly be hard to appreciate the music in this CD. I listen to it frequently and love the music more each time. If you are a Riverdance fan, this CD is a must. It's simply superb.Free Music Review: Riverdance -- Music from the Show

If you've ever seen The Show, then you know what I mean when I say WORDS CAN NOT DESCRIBE WHAT YOU HEAR. Riverdance -- Music from The Show is the best CD ever, it's even been released 3 Times by different records labels, and with each new release more tracks are added and the music just gets better and better. If you find the Atlantic Records version you will hear the "taps" from the dancers on Tracks 1, 3, and 16. If you get the Universal/Celticheartbeat version you will hear the taps only on tracks 1 and 3 but you will hear an EXCELLENT REMIX of the Title Track RIVERDANCE!If you haven't seen The Show, go see it, then buy the CD, or BUY the CD, then go see THE SHOW.
