Free Music Notes for Apocalyptica

Free Music Review: Apocalyptica
Hit: 5 Stars

Saw a little bit of live performance on night talk show. Went straight to Amazon.com and ordered. Love it.

Free Music Review: amazing
Hit: 5 Stars

everything you would expect from this band - it never disappoints. there is a song for any mood you're in

Free Music Review: "Farewell", "Ruska", and "Bittersweet" are excellent songs
Hit: 4 Stars

A good number of the songs on this album are a touch "heavy metal" but there are enough songs that I really like to make this a good album. There is a bonus track with Eicca singing in German. I could be wrong, but she doesn't sing in English on this album. Maybe she doesn't feel comfortable singing in the English, but the two gentlemen on the album do a good job on the tracks with lyrics. "Farewell" is an emotional piece that I quite enjoyed.

Free Music Review: First Apocalyptica CD
Hit: 4 Stars

I'm new to Apocalyptica and older than the usual age that enjoys this type of music. I like about half of the songs, and will probably purchase other Apocalyptica CDs.....just need to find the one song I'm looking for that my son recommended.

Free Music Review: Talk about outside the box!!!
Hit: 3 Stars

Stepping outside my box to "expand my horizons," I made the mistake of going by reviews to purchase this CD. Of course, reviews are generally written by those who are already fans. So they are not non-biased and they are misleading to newbies. I'm a geek and deep into prog metal, particularly neoclassical prog metal, and I was hoping this would scorch my ear drums like some of my favorite stuff. No, this is what you listen to when you lie down at night to help you fall asleep. I like the sound of the cello, I just didn't know the entire CD was going to have cello in it (except the first track). Instrumentals are also present. Fine. But not my favorite thing. This is NOT heavy metal. Not even close. I'd call it symphonic mood rock or something. It's haunting and lovely, and will go in my next yard sale, chalked up to "lessons learned." If you're a fan of more moody, soothing tunes, this is great. It's not my cup of tea.
