Free Music Notes for Inquisition SymphonyFree Music Review: In a word, Outstanding! Hit: 5 Stars
When I was in High School I heard "And Justice for All" for the first time. Being classically trained since 5th grade I instanty fell in love with "One"'s elegant melody and sleghammer rifs. I wore the album out in two months. Even though CD's don't use a needle I'm afrain I've almost done it to this album too. This is a breath of fresh air. Leave it to the Finns to come up with this over those long arctic nights. As a violinist/violist/'tallica fan I can only say, Outsatanding, perhaps the best album I've bought this year. My uncle (who's a Doctor of Music Theory NEEDS to hear this)
Free Music Review: WHOO! This is good! Hit: 5 Stars
I'm a Metallica fan, but I don't really like classical music. I was amazed at how this album sounds! It is so very good! I especially like Nothing Else Matters. It is my fave Metallica song, and now, it is my fave Apocalyptica song. One is very well done too. This is Apocalyptica's second album, I have both, and this one is better. It has more bass to it and more feeling to it. Their first album is also very well done, but it sounds chincy at certain parts. well this is my humble opinion and I hope that you buy both of Apocalyptica's albums so we can hear more from these talented human beings.
Free Music Review: Here you have, one of the most innovative musical proposals in years! Hit: 5 Stars
Apocalyptica is one of the most innovative and original ensembles ever existed. They possess creative muscle, expressive strength, bullet proof originality, mercurial energy, full rounded expansiveness and first rate technique.
This album is one of these overwhelming outbursts of volcanic inspiration. Literally every piece is a masterwork by itself. Of course, Harmageddon, Nothing else matters, refuse/resist, Inquisition symphony, Fade to black stand out because of its primordial wilderness and full expressiveness, but this album is one of the most relevant of the decade.
Free Music Review: More than just Metallica Hit: 5 Stars
Apocalyptica's first album was great, but I like this one even better. It's a little more electronic and heavier than the first and includes covers of three other groups in addition to Metallica. The best part, though, is the three excellent original compositions. These demonstrate real song-writing ability and allow the music to be tailored even better to the cello quartet. My one very minor gripe about the cover songs is that the voice part can become repetitive since there aren't any lyrics to provide variation. The original compositions eliminate this issue.
Free Music Review: The soundtrack to my life, continued... Hit: 5 Stars
Follows their first album very closely in second place on the list of my all-time favorite albums. Being a purist, I didn't like this one QUITE as much (there is more distortion of the true cello sound), but it is still magnificent. "Nothing Else Matters" is easily the most somber-sounding rendition on either album. I was extremely impressed with their own efforts, particularly "Toreador," which is superbly played and has an excellent heavy feel. I'd definitely pay another $50 just to keep this album. I like it that much.
