Well, well well.... What a tasty piece of work this is! For a jaded old fart always looking for that certain... something, this one hits the spot! Much as Oranj Symphonet took jazz to a new level, Apocalyptica has done the same with classical.... or is it with metal? The perfect instrument for such a workout, the humanistic qualities of the Cello lends an almost erie aspect to the tunes at times. Interesting at the worst points, celestial at the best. I hope this is the beginning of a new trend!Free Music Review: what a beautiful album!

This is a refreashing way to put Metal music to classical arrangements. Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin have been doing it for a while now but this is one of the best! Plus they have their own music too! Their performance of One, and Nothing else matters, make this a must have for any one that enjoys powerful music of any type. They can pull you in with thier intelligence then punch you in the face with thier Metal edge. What an amazing talent this group has! These guys dont play strings, they play barbed wire man!! and they play it loud and heavy, but yet so melodic, from the beautifully composed "fade to black", to the machine gun like sounds of "one", I am totally impressed, and they do such honor and justice to the covers, it makes me appreciate the originals all the more for their complexity and immenseness. No one could imagine what four cellos and ONLY FOUR CELLOS, with no electronic intervention could do before these finnish quartet dared to. Most people dont believe that these are nothing more than four acoustic instruments.They sound heavy, they sound dark and they definitively sound unique. If you like classical, goth, metal or if you are curious, please dont keep yourself from it. Specially from their own compositions: Harmageddon and Toreador.Free Music Review: This is something u don't hear every day...

I hate Metallica.I hate classical music.
I like Apocalyptica. How does that work? In my opinion, Apocalyptica have created the classical music of the future. Their dark sounds are depressingly good, Harmaggedon is the kind of song I would like to hear played when the world is hit by a monster meteorite, while Inquisition Simphony is the kind of music a twisted maniac would torture his cello with. I also recommend this music for any funerals.
