Free Music Notes for Appalachian Stomp: Bluegrass ClassicsFree Music Review: Very Average Bluegrass CD Hit: 1 StarsNot Great sound quality, Look for a CD by a group called "Shades of Grass" if you like great Bluegrass music.
Free Music Review: Best introduction to Traditional Bluegrass that I have seen Hit: 5 StarsBest introduction to Traditional Bluegrass that I have seen.
It has probably the best known songs in bluegrass. If you listen to bluegrass at all, you will probably know some of them. But this is only a stepping stone. From here you can move on to albums by the invidual artists as well as others like "The Seldom Scene". Or possibly "new grass" like "Hayseed Dixie" They do some interesting covers of AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd and other groups.
Free Music Review: Can't get any better than this Hit: 5 StarsThis is the definitive one-stop choice for a package of all-time classic bluegrass hits in their original forms, and at a bargain price to boot. I enjoy the fact that the collection takes a long view, running from the oldest bluegrass tunes from Bill Monroe, originator of the genre, to a modern practitioner like Alison Krauss. Don't fail to read the liner notes, they're very informative and well-written.
Free Music Review: Not a fan of stomp afterall Hit: 3 Stars3 stars may be unfair b/c I may be prejudised in that I'm not a fan of stomp afterall (apparently). I love all types of music, including bluegrass and the twangiest of twang...but this seemed a bit repetitive to me. If you're a stomp fan, I'm sure you'll love this...if you're dabbling, might want to get your feet wet somewhere else.
Free Music Review: Bluegrass at it's best Hit: 5 StarsGreat CD with top bluegrass artists and great soundtrack. Definitely worth buying.
