Free Music Notes for AquariumFree Music Review: Aqua pure gold Hit: 5 Stars
Aquarium might sadly be a one-hit wonder for Aqua, but what a hit it is! It has a variety of good music, although I must say it is great for getting started into the dance-electronica scene. Lene's beautiful voice and Rene Dif's deep interjections really contribute a lot to their songs. If you pick your ear up, you can also hear a nice blend of sounds that make their music complex, or polyphonic. A lot of music of this genre falls into the trap of simplicity wrapped around a repeating drum loop, but not Aqua! Even their slow stuff is good. Very upbeat, happy, and cheerful.
Free Music Review: A joke nobody seems to get... Hit: 5 Stars
Aqua (and its copy-cat band Toy Box) is deeply based in satire. People keep giving this album for percieved "dirty lyrics" and "bad morals" however songs like Barbie Girl are obviously making fun of the misogyny and sex that saturate American media. IF you are willing to look past the poppy mood of this album it actually has a very amusing, intelligent point behind it. However if you are easily insulted or are buying this for someone under the age of 12 or 13 I would strongly suggest you put some consideration into whether or not you want to take a risk. Overall great CD!
Free Music Review: It's the future of bubbly techno-bubble gum!!! Hit: 5 Stars
AQUA is interesting in that they give a flavorful updated version of Ace of Base! Don't listen to Ace of Base to judge AQUA because it won't give the full response to their music. Another thing interesting about AQUA is their choice of semi-words. They have a variety of words used to liven up their songs, for example, dum di da di da or ayippie I E ayou ayippie I ay or even, a di da did mud!!! I strongly reccomend this album because if you don't have at least one in each household it's like never being able to understand the word color!!!
Free Music Review: This c.d. is fun pop music that will get you up and dancing! Hit: 5 Stars
I was not a fan of Aqua, and I got tired of their song "Barbie Girl" and "Candyman" really quickly. But, I listened to this c.d. at my friend's house, and it surprised me. The songs on this album are fun and cool. My favorite was "Doctor Jones", which I think they should release. It's a really catchy, fun, sound, but the lyrics don't exactly make sense. But nevertheless, this c.d. is surprisingly good, and I advise pop fans to but this c.d. or at least listen to it.
Free Music Review: No substance but it's SOOOOOOO much fun!!!!! Hit: 5 Stars
The dance songs here are downright addicting, I listen to them over and over and over. Some of the squeakier ones can get annoying if overplayed, but this is still an awesome disc full of club-bangers. *snicker*....oh, and Mr. Jhonny Mendez....it's really embarrassing when you horrifically misspell things while trashing or complaining about something, it makes you come off as really stupid. Next time, try whipping out a dictionary, Bournette Boy. Learn to spell your name while you're at it.
