Free Music Notes for Army of Anyone AlbumFree Music Review: ghosts of the past haunt a great album Hit: 4 StarsI was surprised to see only one review for this disc as of tonight.
I was looking forward to this disc, but did not get my hopes up too far.
But I am happy to write that these guys have produced a really solid album. I am a serious STP fan, and while I can hear the Deleo brothers cranking great classic riffs, Richard adds some fresh songwriting and soaring vocals that fit well. It seems that in the last couple STP albums, Scott tried to sing with a higher voice than he did before, so this will not be a big change for latter day STP fans.
Ray seems to add more urgency to the songs with his drumming than Eric did with STP, more hits and more speed.
A mix of rock songs and ballads. But this disc never seems to drag like "Shangri..." did at times. If you are a STP or Filter fan, pick it up. It is no "Core" or "Title of Record", but something new.
Overall a great first effort.
