The newest full length from As I Lay Dying is one of the best hardcore records I've heard in a long, long time. I couldn't help but picture the band on stage and the crowd eagerly awaiting the next breakdown to dance to. Drawing influences from hardcore, metal, and punk, each track has some variety on it and has everything you would expect from a great metalcore album. Tight melodic guitars, intense breakdowns with heavy double bass, and of course, plenty of scream-along parts make up a brutal album from start to finish. Since their debut release, the members of As I Lay Dying have proven they put everything into producing great music, and An Ocean Between Us is no exception.
Bottom line, if you are interested in heavy music, this is an album worthy of your collection.
